Astrid Loch & Kevin Wendt Postpone Wedding Until 2021
Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt are waiting a bit longer to walk down the aisle than they had planned.
Astrid and Kevin both announced Wednesday on Instagram that they are postponing their wedding until November 2021 instead of their original November 2020 date. Astrid explained in her caption that though it’s not ideal, she and Kevin are "actually okay with it."
She wrote, "With everything going on in the world, uncertainty ahead, and so many changes happening in our lives (more on that soon) we realized it was time to take a step back and reevaluate our priorities. And as much as I was disappointed at first (mostly bc now we won’t get married on Friday the 13th) it’s been a great reminder of why we’re getting married in the first place."
Astrid added, "I wouldn’t want to tackle 2020 & the rest of life with anyone else by my side. 2021 is our year @kevin.c.wendt."

Kevin shared a similar message on his Instagram page with a photo from their engagement day of the pair riding bikes on the beach. He wrote, "My fiancée and I going to just keep moving. I’ve had a bit of a social media break lately with lots going on in our lives.. sometimes it’s needed to recharge. I’m sad to announce we have officially moved the wedding date from November."
The firefighter explained he and Astrid "held on to hope as long as we could."
He continued, "With 70+ of our guests set to fly from Canada to Florida for the celebration, it’s without saying the right and responsible decision. It’s sad but I’m staying positive as we are very lucky people and know it’s a small problem compared to what some people are facing through this crazy year. Keep your head up everyone and let’s get through this together."

Astrid commented on his post, "Gives us more time to train ace to be the ring bearer."
In May, Astrid provided her Instagram followers with an update on their wedding plans, saying then they were "continuing to plan the wedding as if it’s still happening in November." They planned on having around 120 guests at their big day.
In that same update, Astrid revealed design elements she hopes to have at her wedding, which will include her making "quite the entrance" down a flower-lined staircase. The party will feature family-style seating and tables, because she wants to "keep it classy, minimalistic, and timeless."
The "Bachelor in Paradise" couple is coming up on the one-year anniversary of their engagement. Kevin popped the question August 28 during a bike ride in their home city of Toronto. He designed the ring himself at his family's store, Wendt’s Jewellery.
He said on "Bachelor Happy Hour" in October, "I had a really mapped-out idea of how I was going to build it. I just had to go off of Astrid’s little comments about other people’s rings to figure out what she might like."
Astrid added, "If I designed a ring myself, it would have been this exact ring."
