Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert's son Brooks turns 1 July 29, and they showered their baby boy with love on his birthday. Jade posted a picture with Brooks after giving birth and wrote, "My sweet baby boy is a ONE year old today! Happy Birthday, Brooks!!! You’ve brought an abundance of love and joy into our lives, and I can’t wait to celebrate you today and all weekend long! I love you beyond!"

Tanner shared a similar tribute to his son on Instagram. He posted a selfie with Brooks and captioned it, "Happy Birthday to my little dude! Can’t believe it’s been a year since you surprised us in the closet. It’s been so fun seeing your little personality come out and getting to know you. Cannot wait for year 2! Love you Brooks!"

Jade gave birth to Brooks in what could only be described as the most dramatic birth in Bachelor Nation history. She wrote on Instagram July 30, 2019, that it happened "accidentally" in their master bedroom closet.

She explained the closet birth was "not at all what I had planned," but "my waters broke and 75 minutes later I gave birth to our healthy baby boy while clutching a bench in our closet."

Jade described at the time, "It was one of the scariest moments of my life because I felt so out of control, but Tanner, Tanner’s mom, my mom and the medics and firefighters kept me going when I felt like the world was caving in on me and my unborn baby."

Since the "whirlwind labor," Brooks and his almost-3-year-old sister Emmy have become best friends and are preparing to meet the next member of the Tolbert family, who is due in November. Jade posted a video July 22 of Brooks taking his first steps, joking, "He’s gonna be keeping us REALLY busy now!"

Jade and Tanner have been open about their struggles, too. In March, Tanner wrote a long Instagram post about feeling "ashamed" that it took him "a minute to build a bond with Brooks after he was born."

He wrote in his post, "After Brooks was born I found myself comparing my bond with him to the bond I had with Emmy and I think that was unfair for me to do to myself. My relationship with Emmy had built up over a couple years whereas I had just met Brooks.... and as a man I didn’t just spend 9 months being pregnant with him, building a bond that way, like my wife did."

He added, "Brooks has started to show such personality and the older he’s gotten I feel more equipped to take care of him. I love him the exact same as I do Emmy and I’d do anything for either of my kids."

Brooks' big blue eyes and million-dollar smile are enough to brighten anyone's day.
