The "Bachelor" Season 21 alumna announced Monday that her now-fiancé Joshua Wolfe proposed to her August 9. The couple took a trip from their home in Montreal to Quebec City for a romantic getaway. Little did Vanessa know that she’d return to Montreal an engaged woman!

Vanessa posted photos on Instagram from the big evening, which took place atop Porte Saint-Louis. Josh placed candles all along the bridge and got down on one knee in front of a set of stairs.

She captioned the pictures, "August 9th, 2020 will forever be my favourite DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! @jbrwolfe YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING AND I CANNOT WAIT TO BE FOREVER AND EVER WITH YOU!!!!!!" and added many heart emoji.

Earlier on Sunday, she shared a stunning selfie of the two of them smiling inside the famous hotel Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. She wrote, "COVID silver lining: discovering our beautiful province with my silver fox."

Many of Vanessa’s Bachelor Nation friends — including her ex-fiancé Nick Viall — congratulated her on the news.

Nick commented, "Well thank god I followed you back a week ago to hear this news. Congrats to you two! Lucky guy. ❤️💜"

Alexis Waters added, "you had legit two guys propose to you within the time I’ve known you .... I haven’t even had one."

Vanessa introduced Josh to the world via Instagram in a January 2019 selfie with the caption "#mcm." Since then, both have shared countless images that perfectly illustrate how much they care for each other.

According to People, Josh popped the question with a ring featuring a 1-carat oval diamond in the center and one smaller diamond on each side. Vanessa explained to the publication that she was shocked when Joshua proposed.

She said, "I knew we were going to get engaged eventually, but I had no idea it was going to happen when it did."

Vanessa gushed about her fiancé, "Josh is the first person I am with where I am at complete ease and where I never second-guessed his love for me. I’ve been ready to say YES! I am the luckiest woman!"

She added, "I feel at home whenever I am with Josh. His love and affection for his family is something I’ve always admired about him and what I’ve always looked for in a partner."

Josh echoed Vanessa's sentiments about the importance of family. He said he knew she was the one when he met her family and "felt so welcomed, and just grateful at the idea that they may one day become my extended family."

As for their big day, Vanessa envisions a "small, simple, and intimate" gathering with just family and friends.
