Taylor Nolan Opens Up About 'Uncalled For' Backlash She Received After 'The Bachelor'
Taylor Nolan is speaking out about hate and negativity she faced while on "The Bachelor" and afterwards.
Taylor appeared on Season 21 with Nick Viall, which will be featured on the upcoming episode of "The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever!" Fans of "The Bachelor" may remember that much of her storyline centered on her feud with Corinne Olympios and the idea of "emotional intelligence."
The future sexologist spoke with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on a new episode of "Bachelor Happy Hour" about grappling with the weight of the words spoken against her, and how she felt like she didn’t "belong."
Taylor explained to Rachel and Becca that comments she got while "The Bachelor" was airing were "a bit uncalled for and really inappropriate." She brought up "Women Tell All" and how she tried to tell Corinne that the words that she used gave the fan base permission to "use those same words with me and to attack me in that way."
She said, "At 'Women Tell All' I tried to tell her, 'Your words have real-life consequences for me. I wasn’t name-calling you. I wasn’t attacking.'"
Taylor revealed she had people "shaming" her for being a therapist. One person went so far as to report her therapist license to the Department of Health and alleged Taylor was "unprofessional and I shouldn’t be allowed to be a therapist."
The 27-year-old also spoke to Rachel and Becca about racially charged remarks she received that were very “hurtful” to hear.
"I got a lot of comments about being biracial and being Black and people calling me the n-word and viewing me as this evil monster that was trying to take down this poor, innocent white girl," she revealed. "The voices were so loud, I just felt like, 'Wow, OK. I just can’t show my face anywhere.' I felt incredibly small. It was a hard time."
