Lesley Murphy Reveals the Sex of Her First Child
"The future is female" for Lesley Murphy and her fiancé Alex Kavanagh!
Lesley shared a video on her Instagram over the weekend that begins with Alex walking into their house, which is covered with pink balloons. The balloons say "It's a girl!" and are strewn all over the room along with gold confetti and other decorations. Lesley then opens a bottle that spews pink confetti all over the place.
The entire video is set to The Temptations song "My Girl."
In another part of the video, Alex holds a balloon that reads "Oh baby!" and Lesley has one that says "It's a girl!" They then dance around their new home together that they just moved into in Arkansas.
Lesley captioned the video, "Excited to announce...We’re having a BABY GIRL!!!!💝This is how I surprised Alex that the future is female🎉🎉🎉 #itsagirl #babygirl #girldad #thefutureisfemale"

Lesley shared some behind-the-scenes moments from the gender reveal on her Instagram Story, where she explained she put up all the decorations by herself.
She shared a photo of the entry way and wrote, "Wanted a shock factor when he opened the door. I think I did a good job with what I had! Simple, private, memorable."
Lesley and Alex revealed the happy news about her pregnancy in September. They were supposed to tie the knot October 10 in New Zealand, but the coronavirus pandemic meant readjusting those plans.
On their would-be wedding date, Lesley posted some photos and videos of a surprise and impromptu celebration that she had with her family.
She wrote on Instagram, "On 10/10/20, my family surprised us with an impromptu dance party complete with balloon arch and wedding-ish cake (toppers included!👰🏼🤵🏻). It made for a much needed practice round for our cake cutting moment.."
