Nikki Bella Opens Up About Filming 'Total Bellas' While Pregnant and Writing Her Memoir
A global pandemic can’t stop and won’t stop Nikki Bella’s hustle.
The "Total Bellas" star joined Tayshia Adams, Joe Amabile, and guest co-host Natasha Parker on a new episode of "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" and chatted with them about changes she’s made during quarantine and what it was like filming her reality show in the middle of a shutdown. On top of that, she released a memoir in May and gave birth this summer. Suffice it to say, Nikki has been pretty busy the last few months.
Season 6 of "Total Bellas" premiered November 12, and Nikki opened up to the "Click Bait" hosts about her decision to film the new episodes.
She explained, "We were literally the first show to go back into filming during COVID when the pandemic first hit. When it first hit, we were supposed to film, and they didn’t know if we were going to lose that season. Two months later they were like, 'Hey, you guys can be the guinea pig for the entertainment industry. We have to shoot it a certain way: You have to constantly test; you can never leave your home.'"
Nikki and her twin Brie agreed to the terms and said, "It was crazy, especially being so pregnant."
Nikki welcomed her first child Matteo with boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev (yes, Kaitlyn Bristowe’s partner on "Dancing with the Stars") on July 31. Brie gave birth to her second child, Buddy Dessert Danielson, one day later on August 1.
Tayshia related to Nikki’s experience filming during these times, explaining how she thought it "allowed for more meaningful conversations."
Nikki replied, "We were already super close to our crew and production team, but all became so close because we could only be around each other. When the world was falling apart, we just leaned on each other. You did create those certain bonds."

Tayshia asked if it was difficult to create content for the show, and Nikki said, "So hard! I already knew it was going to be hard because we were going to have to be sober, so I was like, 'Well, this sucks.'"
Nikki and Brie released a memoir called "Incomparable" in May. In it, Nikki opens up about confronting some darker periods in her life. Natasha asked her what it was like revisiting the past traumas.
She shared, "In the beginning it was difficult when the book launched and I had to do media that week. It was one of the first times people knew stories that I had never told before. It was already a therapy session with Brie and I when we were writing with our ghost writer, and then I had to relive it for media. I know I’m going to have to relive it for 'Total Bellas.'"
However, she believes there is a "blessing in disguise" because many women have reached out to Nikki and shared their own experiences with rape.
She said, "The amount of women that have reached out to me that have been raped and haven’t said anything is so incredibly sad but my story has helped them realize, 'I need to talk about this. I need to confront it with myself inside so I can be free of it.' That’s been the blessing, but it’s scary to write a memoir. We put our hearts out there, but writing a book is even more."
