Nikki Bella Opens Up About Giving Birth 22 Hours Before Her Twin Sister Brie
Competitiveness runs in Nikki Bella’s blood. It’s what’s made her a WWE Hall of Fame recipient and wrestling champion, so it’s no surprise that this trait carried over to family life — and more specifically, giving birth.
Nikki and her twin Brie do nearly everything together, including getting pregnant at the same time. They explained to People in January that they were both "shocked" when they found out they were each pregnant.
They joked, "People are going to think we planned it, but you can’t really plan pregnancy!" To top it off, Nikki was due only a week and a half after Brie.
Nikki joined Tayshia Adams, Joe Amabile, and Natasha Parker on a new episode of "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" this week and spoke with the co-hosts about what it was like being pregnant during quarantine and having a baby the same time as her twin.

Joe asked how it felt to have her sister give birth hours after Nikki and Artem Chigvintsev welcomed their first child, Matteo.
Nikki explained, "Only we make it competitive. I make it competitive, which she hated. She was having a surprise, so we didn’t know what she was having. Once I knew I was having a boy, my mom really wanted a boy. I was like, 'Hah, I’m having the first grandson,' because I do that with everything."
The "Total Bellas" star said that Brie was "dilated for four weeks" and wanted to have a natural birth, but there was "a certain date she had to go into labor or else she’d have to have another C-section." Brie and her husband Bryan Danielson, who goes by the name Daniel Bryan in the wrestling ring, are also the parents of 3-year-old daughter Birdie Joe Danielson.

Nikki continued, "She’s literally getting to the day before where she could go into natural labor, and my water breaks. I’m a week and a half early. She was literally so pissed. I was like, 'I don’t know what to say, Brie!' I was in labor for 22 hours. What’s crazy is I have Matteo and then Brie had Buddy 22 hours after."
Plus, they ended up in hospital rooms right next to each other. Nikki and Artem welcomed Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev on July 31, and Brie and Bryan had Buddy Dessert Danielson August 1.
"It was just such a twin thing," Nikki shared. "I still have the first grandson, but we have our twin boys. They’re soul brothers."
Soon enough, Nikki and Brie will both trade in the desert heat of Arizona for California’s wine country. She explained on the podcast, "My sister and I were so sick of being super pregnant in the desert. When I went into labor, it was 118 degrees. It was miserable. Our vision boards say we’re going to be in Napa when we’re 60 years old, but why are we waiting? What if we’re locked down forever?"

They both went on Zillow and found their new homes, and Nikki joked, "It’s been my biggest online purchase yet."
