Here’s How Matt James Celebrated His Birthday Ahead of 'The Bachelor' Premiere
Matt James rang in the big 2-9 this weekend — and to celebrate, the incoming Bachelor attended a Miami Dolphins football game on Sunday with his best friend and fellow Bachelor Nation star Tyler Cameron.
Although Tyler surprised his pal with a birthday cake at the sporting event, it was the "Bachelorette" alum who was in for a shock when Matt decided to playfully smash it in his face. The funny moment was caught on camera by Hard Rock Stadium’s Pepsi fan cam, which Matt later shared via his Instagram Stories, writing, "I missed you brother."
Later, Matt flashed a wide smile as he posed for a photo with Tyler, who was still covered in icing from the neck up. Afterward, Matt and Tyler cleaned up to enjoy a bite to eat at Miami’s 3Natives restaurant, which is known for its healthy food options, including smoothies, açaí bowls and wraps.
Matt’s birthday weekend came just before Bachelor Nation was blessed with the sizzling hot key art for the upcoming season of "The Bachelor." The new poster arrived on Monday and sees the real-estate broker — aka the "Matt-chelor" — adjusting his tie as he gives the camera a seductive look. With the promo shot came the fitting Season 25 tagline: "A Matt Made in Heaven."

In recent teasers, Matt has revealed how serious he is about finding The One. "Love for me is about the heart, and the way that I view life, everything is a blessing," he said in one clip, while stating in another: "Getting down on one knee, I only want to do that one time for one woman."
We hope his wish for a fairy-tale ending comes true. Happy birthday, Matt!
Be sure to tune in to Matt's historic season of "The Bachelor," which premieres Monday, January 4, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
