Carly Waddell Promises to Sing Again After Focusing on Motherhood: 'I Sorta Lost Myself'
Carly Waddell is ready to get back to her roots.
The Bachelor Nation star and singer took to Instagram this weekend to share a video of herself belting out the holiday classic “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” Carly’s post was accompanied by an emotional caption, in which she explained how she lost sight of her passion for music.
“Hey guys! It feels like a haven’t sang for you in years!!! Some of you don’t even know I’ve been professionally singing since I was in middle school!” wrote the “Bachelor” Season 19 alum, who released her “Dream Train” EP in 2019.
Carly went on to say that her singing aspirations took a backseat over the last few years, during which motherhood has taken most of her focus. The mom of two shares daughter Bella, 2, and son Charlie, 13 months, with husband Evan Bass, whom she met and fell in love with on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2017.
“Well, I guess I sorta lost myself in motherhood, and while that is the most amazing gift, I sorta forgot my own self,” Carly continued. “I just want you guys to know I’m going to be singing more, and sharing that part of my soul with you again! I’ve missed it so much! Hope you enjoy!”
Bachelor Nation has since encouraged Carly to get back in the recording studio, including her good friend and fellow mom Jade Roper, who commented on the post, “I agree with everyone saying you need to put out a Christmas album!!”
