As fans will recall, Emily and her twin sister, Haley Ferguson, competed for Ben Higgins’ heart on Season 20 of “The Bachelor” in 2016. The sisters later appeared together on Seasons 3 and 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Emily began dating William in 2017, leaving Haley to search for love on her own when she signed on for Season 6 of “Paradise” in 2019.
Not long after Emily shared her and William’s exciting news, Bachelor Nation flooded her comments section with congratulatory messages.
“OMG!! Congrats my angel!!!” wrote JoJo Fletcher, while Kendall Long said, “Lovvveeeee. So happy for you two.”
Added Sydney Lotuaco, “Congrats girl!!...Happy for you both!!”
Lauren Bushnell — who recently announced that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Chris Lane — also chimed in, writing, “So happy for you both.”
Meanwhile, proud sister Haley dedicated an entire post to Emily’s engagement. “My sister is an ENGAGED WOMAN!!! Congratulations to you and William,” she wrote on Sunday, sharing a photo of herself and Emily flashing huge smiles. “Love you weirdos and can’t wait to celebrate when I am home having some serious fomo!”

On Monday, Emily shared video footage of William’s proposal. “I never imagined that I would be getting proposed to in sweatpants, hair in a bun and a spray tan....but truly it could not have been more perfect,” she captioned a clip showing her new fiancé getting down on one knee during a hike with their dog.
“William Karlsson, thank you for loving me for me. You love me when I’m at my worst and when I’m at my best,” she continued. “I don’t know how I got so lucky. I can’t wait to do life with you forever.”
