Brendan 'Didn’t Know What to Expect' While Competing for Tayshia's Heart on 'The Bachelorette'
Brendan Morais chatted with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin for the latest episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour,” during which he opened up about his experience competing for Tayshia Adams’ heart on Season 16 of “The Bachelorette.”
“Going into this crazy experience and journey, I didn’t know what to expect,” said the handsome Massachusetts native, who, alongside Zac Clark and Ivan Hall, would eventually win a spot among Tayshia’s final three men.
Brendan added, “I didn’t know if this would work for me.”
Elsewhere in his “Bachelor Happy Hour” interview, the commercial roofer and part-time model said that he was attracted to Tayshia the moment he laid eyes on her — not long after she took over for this season’s first lead, Clare Crawley.
“When she entered the room, literally the first thing aside from her beauty that I noticed — and I know a lot of guys said this, but I thought of it first! — was that she did this little wiggle,” Brendan gushed of Tayshia and her impromptu dance move.
“I felt like that just encompassed all the amazing qualities of Tayshia, in just a little quick movement where I was like, ‘She’s taking this very seriously, but she’s also going to be her true, genuine, and natural self. She’s going to be silly and goofy, but at the same time sweet and gentle,’” he continued. “That’s the biggest impression that I had of her. Every time I was with her, she made me feel amazing. She was so gentle and sweet. I’m certainly drawn to personalities like that.”
Brendan went on to say that although he thought his first conversation with Tayshia went well, he was unsure if the attraction was mutual — and never anticipated that he would be picked for her inaugural one-on-one date.
“She gave me a double take. That’s something that I didn’t notice. But a lot of the other guys were like, ‘She gave you a double-look before she hugged you,’” he recalled. “At the end of the day, I was surprised that I got the first one-on-one… But I was definitely grateful for it.”
