Tayshia Adams Admits She Wasn't Into Zac Clark During This One 'Bachelorette' Date
Following his engagement to Tayshia Adams on the Season 16 finale of “The Bachelorette,” Zac Clark joined his fiancée and her “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” co-hosts, Joe Amabile and Natasha Parker, to discuss his journey on the show.
During their chat, Joe brought up the moment he knew Tayshia would end up choosing Zac. According to the Sundays with Joe pasta sauce founder, he saw sparks fly during a Week 7 hot tub date.
But, uh, guess he was wrong?
“That’s interesting, because she told me after the hot tub scene she didn’t even like me,” Zac said with a laugh, to which Tayshia responded, “It’s so true! I really wanted to tell you [Joe] earlier. And it’s so funny that [Zac’s] here now. I just remember getting out of the hot tub being like, ‘Yeah, not into that guy.’”
As Bachelor Nation will recall, the scene involved a conversation during which Zac admitted to Tayshia that she made him “nervous.” The pair also spoke about the unexpected challenges of life outside of filming “The Bachelorette,” with Zac dropping this memorable line: “It’s not always going to be a hot tub looking at the stars.”
Joe then explained why the moment stuck out to him. “There was like a calm over you [Tayshia] that I didn’t see on the show yet, and I never saw after that,” he said. “You seemed to actually be there, be in the conversation.”
Zac replied with a smile, “I appreciate that.”
Meanwhile, Natasha noted Tayshia and Zac’s palpable onscreen chemistry throughout the entirety of Season 16. “For Joe and I, it was very interesting for us to watch it because of course we’re talking to [Tayshia] on [‘Click Bait’] and we’re seeing her having these cringe moments with so many of the guys and we’re like, ‘Oh, ugh, ew,’” she said.
“But every time you guys were actually on the screen, it was like, ‘Wait, hold on. This is different. This feels a little different,’” Natasha continued. “Maybe it’s because of your confidence and just how calm you are and maybe that kind of made her calmer around you? I don’t know if that’s what it was. But every time we’d come on this podcast, we’d always ask her these little questions and your name would just somehow always pop up.”
Of course, Zac eventually won Tayshia’s heart — and he asked for her hand in marriage with a sparkling diamond ring designed by Neil Lane. “The other night when we were talking, you spoke about that idea of someone choosing you. I can’t picture another day, another moment without you in my life,” he said through tears in an emotional proposal speech. “And if you’ll let me, I’m going to choose you right now, I’m going to choose you tomorrow morning, I’m going to choose you next week and next year. And I’m going to choose you forever, because I love you.”
