Matt James Confronts the Women in Dramatic 'Bachelor' Teaser: Watch
He’s had enough. In a new teaser for Monday night’s episode of “The Bachelor,” Matt James confronts contestants who have been accused of bullying newcomer Brittany Galvin.
As Bachelor Nation witnessed during Week 4 of the show, Anna Redman brought up rumors that Brittany is an “escort” and is “entertaining men for money” in Chicago, where both women reside. MJ Snyder and Queen Victoria Larson also notably engaged in the gossip.
“I didn’t sign up to be bullied,” a tearful Brittany tells Matt in the preview.
Elsewhere, Michelle Young — another late addition to the competition for the Bachelor’s final rose — says, “People have said disrespectful things.”
Speaking to the group of women, Matt states, “If you have to belittle someone else for you to shine, those aren’t the qualities I’m looking for in my wife.”
At one point, the outspoken Victoria defends her behavior — which, up to this point in the series, has included cutting remarks and polarizing antics such as her decision to snatch former Miss Puerto Rico Catalina Morales’ tiara from the pageant queen’s head and crown herself instead.
“I’m always playful. It was never malicious,” Victoria claims.
In another moment, Anna seems to express remorse for her role in spreading false information about Brittany. “I feel horrible,” she says.
Meanwhile, a mysterious voice says, “Those apologies are not sincere.” Adds another, “She needs to go home.”
Later, Matt seems determined to put an end to all of the drama that has been brewing behind his back at Pennsylvania’s Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. “I owe it to these women to create a safe space for them and that’s what I’m going to do,” he says before closing the door to a departing vehicle.
