Experience Da Nang, Vietnam, Like Juan Pablo Galavis on 'The Bachelor'
If you’re making your way through the most beautiful cities in Vietnam, Da Nang is not to be missed! Situated between Ho Chi Minh City and the country’s capital, Hanoi, Da Nang offers oceanside perks with a city feel. You can make the trip even more romantic with a beachside hotel and walks on the water as the sun sets on the horizon. If that’s not the perfect setting for a love story, then we don’t know what is!
With plenty of beaches, pagodas, hiking trails, and museums to visit, you’ll surely never have a boring day when you visit Da Nang. Juan Pablo Galavis visited the Vietnamese city on Season 18 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can experience it just like him!
Arrival
Da Nang has plenty of hotel options, but if you want the best of both worlds with the hills and the beach, we suggest the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. Juan Pablo and the ladies stayed at this five-star hotel, which was named the top resort in Asia by the Condé Nast Traveler readers’ poll.
You and your date can wake up to the relaxing sight of the ocean, walk down to one of their rooftop pools for a swim, and dine in any one of their five restaurants. Now this is what we mean when we talk about romantic getaways!
One-on-One Date: New Love in Old Town
It’s time for some adventure! Start your trip off on a historical foot as you and your date drive to the nearby city of Hoi An. It’s known for its Old Town, which pays homage to its early days as a major port city.
To experience a fun day in the city, saunter through Old Town and shop at some of the local markets. You can even ride in a pedicab together! Don’t be afraid to change into a new item of clothing you bought and show off your garb at dinner in Old Town. It’s a perfect opportunity to bond with your date and see if your travel compatibility matches up with your romantic one.
Group Date: Put the 'Boo' in Bamboo
How well can your group go with the flow? Well, here’s the perfect chance to see!
Spend the first part of your date on the water by sailing down the river in traditional bamboo basket boats. You can pair people up or have them choose — either way, whoever you get is the luckiest of the bunch! This is where you can really put your teamwork skills to the test.
Once you’re out of the boats, eat lunch in a local restaurant. Don’t be afraid to try some new foods you’ve never had before! Relationships are all about trying new things and experiencing them together, so live large! Make sure to give a rose to the person who impresses you the most!
One-on-One Date: Strong Like Marble
Da Nang features more than just water activities. It’s a city surrounded by stunning, verdant mountains. Grab your date and make your way to the Marble Mountains, a popular pilgrimage site comprising five limestone and marble hills named after different elements, including water, fire, earth, metal, and wood.
You can spend hours walking around the Marble Mountains, as well as venturing into some caves. To turn the heat up on your date, visit one local cave known as Hell and try rappelling in it. Just because the cave is called Hell, that doesn’t mean your date will be! A day exploring the Marble Mountains will allow you and your loved one to test your limits and overcome any fears you may have about rappelling or your relationship.
The only falling happening here will be falling in love.
A visit to Da Nang, Vietnam, will fill you and your romantic interest with culture, beautiful scenery, and opportunities to advance your relationship. Whether you spend your days on the beach or in the mountains, Mother Nature gives you a bang for your buck in Da Nang.
