Experience Warsaw, Indiana, Like Ben Higgins on 'The Bachelor'
Two hours east of Chicago lies Warsaw, Indiana, a city surrounded by lakes and filled with warmhearted citizens. Though Warsaw might not be the first name that springs to mind as a romantic getaway, the city offers plenty of space for long walks with your loved one and appreciating nature.
If its waterfront landscape and lush gardens aren’t enough to sway you, it’s also the hometown of one of America’s favorite Bachelors: Ben Higgins!
Ben traveled home to Warsaw during Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can have a similar experience when you visit.
One-on-One Date: Slam Dunk into My Heart
If you and your loved one have a penchant for heart-pumping activities, take a stroll around downtown Warsaw before heading to Baker Youth Club for some basketball. Ben and his date surprised local youngsters and played ball with two Indiana Pacers stars Paul George (now on the L.A. Clippers) and George Hill (now on the Milwaukee Bucks). Though you and your loved one might not have an opportunity to shoot hoops with two NBA stars, you can nonetheless check out the great ways Warsaw instills the importance of teambuilding at the Baker Youth Club.
Don’t forget to take a breather and tell your loved one that you think they’re a total slam dunk!
Group Date: Nothing but Fun
Warsaw is less than hour from Fort Wayne, so if you and your date feel like a trip to a big city, hop in the car for a day of exploring. While you’re there, wander around the city and check out some of Fort Wayne’s most stunning venues, including Marian Hills. It’s a picturesque location in the middle of nature that’s perfect for bonding with your date. You’ll likely find a rose around, so don’t be afraid to give one to your date!
Later in the evening, make your way back to Warsaw, where you might get lucky enough to encounter a carnival! Ben surprised one lucky lady when they attended a carnival where they played all sorts of games and boosted their adrenaline on carnival rides. Perhaps you can even set up your own kissing booth with your date!
Warsaw, Indiana, may be off the beaten bath when it comes to Midwestern vacation spots, but its charm and natural beauty will undoubtedly have you coming back for more.
