How 'Click Bait' Co-Hosts Joe Amabile & Natasha Parker Overcame Their Reality TV Regrets
On the latest episode of “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation,” co-hosts Joe Amabile and Natasha Parker opened up about overcoming their reality TV regrets.
Natasha went first, recalling her time competing for Peter Weber’s final rose on Season 24 of “The Bachelor” in 2020. As fans will recall, the standout contestant was sent home Week 7 after a one-on-one date with the handsome pilot.
“I do have a few regrets — but, at the time, when I first got off the show,” she said. “Now, today, in present day, do I regret anything? No. But there were a lot of things that I had to get over, that I felt I did regret. I was going to self-eliminate and I didn’t. And I should have.”
Looking back now, though, Natasha is grateful she stuck it out. “Now I’m glad that I didn’t because now I know that this is not my person. Whereas if you self-eliminate, maybe you think in the back of your head, ‘What if?’” she explained. “I’m also just notoriously not a quitter, so I probably would’ve even felt a certain way about that if I had done that and not seen it all the way through. So, that was something that I had to get over.”
Natasha said that she also regretted “not saying exactly how I felt” during her time with Peter.
“I’ve done that in so many other relationships. In hindsight, when I got home and I was sitting there and thinking with all of my tears, I was like, ‘This is a trend for me. I’ve done this many times in past relationships,’” she elaborated, adding that the revelation was “healing” for her. “Now, I be like, ‘Boo, I’ma tell you exactly what I’m feeling. This is all my feels!’ So, it’s good to get it out there.”
Meanwhile, Joe simply thinks he could have styled his hair differently during his short-lived stint on Becca Kufrin’s Season 14 of “The Bachelorette” in 2018.
“Of course, right away, you have regrets — especially for me because I got eliminated night one. Looking back, I didn’t like my hair. I thought I cut it too short,” he said. “But I’ve talked about that. I’ve talked about it a hundred million times.”
After Becca sent the charismatic grocer home on night one, Joe appeared on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise” — where he found love with Kendall Long, though they ultimately called it quits in 2020 — and later competed on Season 27 of “Dancing with the Stars.” According to the Chicago native, he wouldn’t change a thing about his journey.
“I really, truly try not to live in the past,” Joe said. “Of course, I could have done things better. But I’m still happy with my life. And if I wasn’t happy, I wouldn’t allow myself… to be caught up in the past. I would just try to move on. In my opinion, you have to live in the present, enjoy it, and work for the future, but don’t let that take too much of your present moment.”
Natasha agreed, noting that everything shook out the way it was supposed to. “I don’t feel like I should have said something to Peter to change his mind about me going home,” she said. “Regardless, you still were not going to end up with Becca. I was still not going to end up with Peter.”
