Becca Kufrin Counts Down Rachel Lindsay's Top 10 'Bachelor Happy Hour' Moments
Honoring Rachel Lindsay’s incredible run on “Bachelor Happy Hour,” Becca Kufrin counted down her co-host’s top 10 moments during this week’s landmark 100th episode.
Becca explained to Rachel that she wanted to highlight her successes on “Bachelor Happy Hour” ahead of her departure from the Bachelor Nation podcast.
“Because this marks the 100th episode and your last episode, why not celebrate all things Rachel Lindsay?” the Season 14 Bachelorette told the beloved multihyphenate. “So, today, we’re celebrating one damn good co-host, one damn good friend, one damn good author, reporter, interviewer. Literally, the list could go on and on.”
Becca added, “We’ve had so many great moments together on and off the podcast. But luckily, a lot of the great moments that we’ve had were recorded. So, we’re going to be pulling the top 10 moments from some of our favorite episodes that you have done and celebrate you and take our listeners on a walk down memory lane.”
Below, revisit Rachel’s best “Bachelor Happy Hour” moments — according to Becca! — and see what Rachel had to say about them as she looked back.
10. Interviewing Jed Wyatt, Hannah Brown's Final Rose Recipient — and Infamous Ex
Rachel grilled Jed Wyatt about allegations that he had a girlfriend prior to appearing on Hannah’s Season 15 of “The Bachelorette” in 2019.
“I listened to him in that 40 seconds or whatever and I’m like, ‘What was Hannah Brown thinking?’ I feel like I didn’t go as hard at him as I wanted to, but that was the beginning of us doing this podcast,” said Rachel, who originated the podcast in the summer of 2019 alongside Ali Fedotowsky. “We were, like, a couple of weeks in. I was ready. He had pretty much embarrassed Hannah. This was a moment to take up for her and I was ready.”
9. Interviewing Mike Johnson
Mike Johnson opened up to Rachel about how he was close to leading “The Bachelor” Season 24 before the role ultimately went to Peter Weber.
“I was so eager. This was one of the first times that I had done an interview for ‘Bachelor Happy Hour’ without a co-host,” Rachel said. “So, it was just me and Mike, one-on-one. I was very disappointed… that it was not Mike as the next Bachelor. So, I was really eager to talk to him, get his perspective, hopefully have people see a different side of Mike through an in-depth conversation. I was really proud of that interview. And ever since then, we’ve been brother and sister.”
8. Interviewing Ex Nick Viall
Rachel had a vibrant conversation with Nick Viall, whom she dated on “The Bachelor” Season 21 in 2017 before leading “The Bachelorette” Season 13 and meeting future husband Bryan Abasolo.
“Nick is my favorite ex. That’s the truth. We clicked. I came into his season so skeptical and after our first conversation, I was like, ‘OK, we’re definitely going to be friends. We’re going to be friends in real life,’” Rachel said. “And we are [friends] in real life! I’ve seen Nick’s new house. We have this upcoming double date where I get to meet his new girlfriend [Natalie Joy]. Now that Bryan is here [in L.A.], we’ve got this plan.”
She added, “I have a lot of respect for Nick. I love his hustle. I love what he’s doing. I feel like I understand him in a way that maybe some girls from my season didn’t. So, yeah, he’s definitely my favorite ex.”
7. Interviewing 'The Bachelor' Season 24 Star Sydney Hightower
Rachel spoke in depth with “The Bachelor” Season 24 star Sydney Hightower about the racism that contestants of color experience within Bachelor Nation. According to Rachel, Sydney inspired her to speak out about the issue on stage during the Season 24 “Women Tell All” special.
“I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to talk onstage about the bullying and the racism that people of color constantly get from Bachelor Nation and I hope it made some kind of impact,” Rachel said. “I hope it made the nation better and I hope it affected one person. I’m forever grateful to Sydney for opening my eyes to that.”
6. Interviewing Rita Wilson
Rachel had the opportunity to chat with actress and musician Rita Wilson, who opened up about her impressive career in show business.
“Such a fun episode! Who would have known we would have had the opportunity to talk to Rita Wilson? She does it all,” Rachel said. “I feel like I learned so much more from her. We sang with her. At that moment, that’s when it came out that she knew the words to ‘Hip Hop Hooray’ by Naughty by Nature. She’s so cool. She’s so chill.”
5. Interviewing Bachelor Nation's Resident Glam Gurus Gina Modica & Cary Fetman
Rachel chatted with makeup artist Gina Modica and fashion stylist Cary Fetman — who have worked with the Bachelor franchise for years — about some of the most memorable looks from her season of “The Bachelorette.”
“Cary and Gina allow us to be ourselves. They provide the goods, but we have the freedom to choose the look that we want. If you trust Cary and Gina as the experts that they are, then it all comes together,” Rachel said. “And that’s what I love about that clip because it’s a clip of me explaining how everybody worked together to make one of my absolute favorite looks.”
4. Interviewing Clare Crawley
Rachel sat down with Clare Crawley as she prepared to lead the first portion of “The Bachelorette” Season 16 in 2020.
“Clare was so powerful in that interview,” Rachel said. “It became emotional just to see what she’s been through, where she’s going, and how she survived it all. And she’s come out bigger and better than ever. And I’m proud of that interview that we had with her. It was such an uplifting, inspiring, empowering girl moment. If you need to lift your spirits, if you need some type of encouragement, that’s the episode for you. Clare was really doing some preaching in that episode! Loved it.”
3. Interviewing 90-Year-Old Superfan Grandma Honey
Rachel welcomed 90-year-old superfan Grandma Honey and her family onto “Bachelor Happy Hour.” During that particular episode, Rachel introduced Grandma Honey to her Bachelor Nation crush Tyler Cameron.
“That family, three generations of Bachelor fans. They all connect over the show. Those are the kinds of stories that you love to hear,” Rachel said. “We don’t get to connect or hear from them in that way. So, to see a family that connects over the show, it hits in a different way. It doesn’t make it feel like this silly show. It makes it feel like it’s something that bonds people.”
She added, “And that’s probably one of my top three episodes. From time to time, they still email. I know when I was going through some stuff this year, the family reached out to me via email. Grandma Honey is a gem!”
2. Eulogizing Bennett Jordan's Exit from 'The Bachelorette' Season 16
After weeks of expressing her appreciation for Bennett Jordan, Rachel hilariously eulogized his exit from “The Bachelorette” Season 16 upon Tayshia Adams’ decision to send the standout contestant home.
“I was in a zone! I loved Bennett. It’s not often that you can connect with a character from TV that way,” Rachel said. “The sad thing, y’all, is I never met him. Wait until the day that I actually meet the Bennett.”
1. Reminiscing on '90s Nostalgia
During a recent episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour,” Rachel and Becca dished on their favorite ’90s nostalgia — including Spice Girls, Lisa Frank, pizza rolls, and more!
“It’s just such a time. I was born in the ’80s, so you say you’re an ’80s baby, but the ’90s raised me. So, that just brings back such a beautiful time and I’m so glad we had that moment,” Rachel said. “Honestly, the listeners loved that episode. We got so much feedback on how we took them back and how it was fun for them to listen along and just remember a simpler time as well.”
