Kelley Flanagan Introduces Bachelor Nation to Her Family's Adorable New Puppy
Kelley Flanagan headed over to social media on Wednesday to introduce Bachelor Nation to her family’s adorable new puppy, an 8-week-old boxer named Sage.
As the “Bachelor” alum explained to her followers in a series of Instagram Story posts, she got Sage as a surprise for her father, Thomas.
“So, a couple months ago, my family dog/sister’s dog passed away and my dad’s been taking it pretty hard,” Kelley said in a video clip. “He went on a boys’ golf trip with all my brothers, and I guess the entire time he was just looking at pictures of dogs or puppies and he’s been begging my mom to get a dog — which she does not want.”
The stunning attorney then picked up Sage and showed her to the camera. “So, I woke up this morning to this little girl in my bed,” she continued. “[My siblings and I] decided to get one and we’re going to surprise my parents today. My mom’s going to throw a fit. My dad’s going to be the most excited person on earth.”
In an accompanying caption, Kelley noted that Sage will be the “perfect gift” for her father, as he recently learned that he is “100% cancer free” nearly a year after being diagnosed. “My dad is going to be so excited!” she enthused before adding, “My mom is about to be so mad!”
Later, Kelley shared footage of her parents meeting Sage for the first time — and, just as she predicted, her father was thrilled, while her mother, Connie, was incensed.
“Oh my gosh, you’re kidding me! That’s wonderful. That’s absolutely fabulous, guys. What a great day!” Kelley’s dad exclaimed, expressing gratitude for his cute canine companion.
“I don’t want a dog!” Kelley’s mom retorted, to which her dad replied, “How can you be that upset over a beautiful little dog like this? Look at this. I mean, gorgeous! How pretty can a dog get?”
