Why Joe Amabile Is 'Ready' for Another Long-Term Relationship
On this week’s episode of “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation,” Joe Amabile explained that he’s looking for another long-term relationship.
Joe’s revelation came during a conversation with co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Natasha Parker about the recent rise in condom sales that seems to correlate with the progression of COVID-19 vaccinations across the United States.
“I do think this is going to be the summer of love. I really, really do. I think people are going to be humping and having sex all summer,” said the franchise alum, predicting that singles will be eager to “make love” after spending extended periods in quarantine over the past year. “I think it’s going to definitely be a thing.”
He continued, “When the heat hits and the summer hits, I don’t think people are going to be out there trying to find a relationship. I think people are going to be out there looking to get it in and get down.”
However, Joe noted that he hopes to forgo random hookups this summer and instead find The One.
“Listen, I’ve had enough casual sex in my life. I’m 35 years old. I’ve only really had one long-term relationship,” he said, referencing his past romance with fellow Bachelor Nation star Kendall Long.
“So, for a long time, the only sex I knew was casual sex,” Joe added. “Now, I am personally ready for another [relationship]. I want to be in a relationship. I like being in a relationship. So, that’s where I’m at.”
After a short-lived stint on Becca Kufrin’s Season 14 of “The Bachelorette” in 2018, Joe appeared on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” where he found love with Kendall, though they ultimately called it quits in 2020.
During a March interview Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo on Bachelor Nation’s “Talking It Out” podcast, Joe teased that he might be willing to give love another shot on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 7 (which premieres Monday, August 16, on ABC).
“It worked the first time. It’s not like something I’m shooting for, but if I went on, if they asked me and I went on and it happened, yeah, I would be open to it,” the charismatic grocer said of a potential return to reality TV.
Asked about current crushes within the franchise, Joe told Mike and Bryan that he has his eye on “several” women — including “Bachelor” Season 24 contestant Victoria Fuller.
“I would say there’s a handful of women that I would be interested in meeting from the past couple seasons. I like Victoria. She’s gorgeous. She’s got a good personality,” he said. “I don’t know. There are so many girls in Bachelor Nation that are attractive. I have to meet them in person. I have to get that feel in person.”
