Desiree Siegfried Explains the 'Divine Timing' of Meeting Husband Chris on 'The Bachelorette'
Meant to be! Desiree Siegfried took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a touching message about her relationship with husband Chris Siegfried — and explained the “divine timing” of meeting him during her journey as the Season 9 Bachelorette in 2013.
“Stole some time away with my bae,” Desiree captioned an adorable selfie that sees the couple enjoying time together outdoors.
“It’s ironic how many people didn’t think we would make it after The Bachelorette aired or said that I was ‘settling’ by choosing Chris,” she continued, seemingly referencing the widespread prediction that she would end up handing her final rose to contestant Brooks Forester.
“Little did they know the divine timing and life lesson I learned by choosing him,” the former franchise lead elaborated. “What a man and what a blessing to have trusted God over what others thought. It wasn’t easy but Chris made it manageable way back then and still continues to be my rock.”
After falling in love on “The Bachelorette,” Desiree and Chris tied the knot in a romantic January 2015 wedding ceremony in Palos Verdes, California. Today, they live in Portland, Oregon, with their sons, Asher, 4, and Zander, 2.
As she noted in her post, Desiree will detail her “Bachelorette” love story with Chris in her upcoming book “The Road to Roses,” which is expected to hit stores June 22.
“If you haven’t guessed I share much of my time during #TheBachelorette in my new book The Road to Roses as well as the impact it had on me and our relationship afterwards,” she concluded. “Juicy stuff right there.”
