Experience Santiago, Chile, Like Peter Weber on 'The Bachelor'
Are you in search of the perfect place to spice up your relationship? Well, look no further than Santiago, Chile!
The vibrant city is the South American country’s political, financial, and romantic epicenter. With its many cultural landmarks, delicious restaurants, unique topography, and rich history, Chile was made for lovers.
Peter Weber traveled to Santiago on “The Bachelor” Season 24 — and here’s how you can experience its magic just like him!
Arrival
Settle in at the Renaissance Santiago Hotel, a gorgeous establishment situated in the heart of the city. Enjoy the hotel’s stylish décor and breathtaking floor-to-ceiling window views of the nearby Andes Mountains. After you unpack, get a taste of authentic Chilean cuisine at the hotel’s award-winning Catae Restaurant. Later, head up to the rooftop bar and indulge in a decadent cocktail menu while admiring Santiago’s stunning nighttime cityscape.
When you wake up the next morning, get ready to explore!
One-on-One Date: Exploration Station
Kick things off in Chile by exploring every corner of its incredible capital city with your significant other.
Start by grabbing a bite to eat at Kechua Bellavista, an eatery known for its mouthwatering meat dishes. After you’re full, hop aboard the Funicular Santiago, a railway train, and let it take you all the way to Capilla La Maternidad de Maria, a tranquil church where you can absorb the prepossessing architecture while taking time to reflect.
Later, head to Mercado Central de Santiago, a local market where you’re able to enjoy scores of Chilean treats from its many street vendors. If you two are lucky, you might come across a local band — and if you do, take a moment to dance together to the lively Chilean music!
At night, sit down for a private candlelit dinner at Casa Almarza, one of Chile’s most luxe estates.
Group Date: The Most Dramatic Date Ever
Peter and his women visited the Mega TV studios, where they met with telenovela director Guillermo Le Mare and actors Constanza Gomez and Matias Stevens. They were given scripts, characters, and outrageous costumes — and were then asked to perform on camera.
While you and bae may not have the opportunity to flex your acting skills alongside South America’s brightest stars, you can still visit the iconic TV studios and take a tour. If you want, catch up on Chile’s most popular telenovelas — such as “Alguien Te Mira” and “¿Dónde está Elisa?” — and reenact one of the shows’ sizzling scenes when you get back to your hotel.
One-on-One Date: Let’s Horse Around
Visit a local farm, where a huaso — Chilean cowboy — can put you through huaso training. Learn how to be huasos yourselves and connect with their constant companions: horses.
Let the huaso guide you as crawl beneath the horse before saddling up and riding the majestic steed around a training paddock. Later, take in a spirited rodeo show at El Peñasco de Santa Sylvia.
At night, make your way to Ladera Hotel, where you and your partner can feast on a five-course meal paired with one-of-a-kind cocktails and delectable desserts.
The next day, make one last stop at the Santo Carolina Winery. As you imbibe wine flights full of sumptuous reds, whites, and rosés, look out onto the striking Chilean landscape in front of you and reminisce on all the amazing memories you and your better half made in Santiago.
