Becca Kufrin Questions Justin Glaze About His 'Iconic' Facial Expressions on 'The Bachelorette'
Justin Glaze stopped by “Bachelor Happy Hour” to chat with Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Tayshia Adams about his experience competing for Katie Thurston’s final rose on “The Bachelorette” Season 17.
During the interview, Becca questioned Justin about his meme-worthy facial expressions that have been lighting up social media.
“We’ve seen so many memes of you that are blowing up with your iconic facial expressions. So, did you ever realize before going on the show how expressive you are and how you react to certain things?” the Season 14 Bachelorette asked the standout contestant.
“So, yes and no. My whole life, growing up, I had been told, ‘You’re so expressive. You make the craziest faces,’” said Justin, who has a documented penchant for a furrowed brow and roll of the eyes. “And I’m just like, ‘OK, sure. OK, whatever.’ And people are like, ‘No, seriously, you are so expressive.’”
He continued, “Going back to middle school, somebody would make a joke. People would always turn to me and be like, ‘We know you’re going to do something. We know your face is going to give it away.’ And I’m like, ‘Guys, what do you mean? I’m just reacting. Everyone does that, right?”
However, Justin finally understood what his friends were talking about after watching himself on “The Bachelorette.”
“It wasn’t until I saw myself on-screen where I’m like, ‘Oh, you look crazy.’ They weren’t lying!” he said with a laugh. “I knew with the drama and stuff, knowing me, I probably reacted to it. But there’s been some times where the camera flashed to me and I’m like, ‘What was I thinking? What was I doing? What was going through my head?’”
Justin added, “I’ll sit back and literally try to contort my face and try to remake those faces and I can’t do it. It’s such an in-the-moment thing and I can’t control it.”
