‘Click Bait’: Mykenna Dorn Discusses Her Late Arrival to ‘Paradise’ and Reveals Why She Felt Blindsided by Aaron
Bachelor Nation fans first got to know Mykenna Dorn on Season 24 of “The Bachelor.” She briefly appeared on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise” during the VIP party but didn’t actually arrive down onto the beach until this week.
Mykenna stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast to discuss everything from her late arrival and how she felt blindsided by Aaron Clancy to why she eventually decided to accept the date with Ed Waisbrot.
Mykenna explained that getting to the beach so late wasn’t easy. While she felt excited on her way in, that immediately changed when she got to “Paradise.”
“I was nervous coming down. I didn’t know what to expect, but I just wanted to stay hopeful. When I came down, I felt like I got that weird vibe. Everyone was like, ‘Why is she here? What’s happening?’ I felt super awkward being there,” Mykenna revealed.

“Click Bait” co-host and fellow “Paradise” cast member Joe Amabile agreed with Mykenna, saying that she was “definitely not wrong for feeling that way.”
Joe noted that he felt really bad for Mykenna coming in that day because by then, the vibe from everyone already on the beach was that “they were almost done.”
Mykenna explained, “I think that’s why a lot of my emotions came out. Like when Aaron said no, it was just because I personally didn’t feel welcomed in a way, because I just felt like the odd man out.”
Natasha Parker, who was also in “Paradise” when Mykenna arrived, chimed in to add that she hopes Mykenna didn’t take it personally. “I don’t think that sentiment was directed specifically towards you,” she said. “I think that people felt that way when Anna came down late too. Anyone who would’ve come in at that moment, it was just so late in the game and we were so exhausted.”
Mykenna went on to explain why she was specifically hurt and felt blindsided by Aaron’s rejection to her date card proposal.
The Bachelor Nation star said that while others she talked to, like Thomas Jacobs, were clear about their relationship statuses, she feels like Aaron misled her.
“When I spoke to Aaron, he did make it clear that he was talking to Chelsea and it was going well, but I felt like we were flirting and I had asked him how he’s been and he said he was doing well,” Mykenna said.
She continued, “And so when I sat down with him and he said no to the date and that he hasn’t been doing well, I was, like, confused and blindsided. I would’ve rather him just told me that he was interested in Chelsea instead of ‘I’m not well,’ when I just spoke to you 10 minutes ago and you said you were doing really great.”
Eventually, Bachelor Nation saw Ed come down to the beach where Mykenna was all up in her feels after Aaron’s rejection and ask if he could go on the date with her.
In hindsight, Mykenna said she wishes she had accepted his offer right away, but she explained why it took her a minute to be onboard.

“I was just really hurt and I was trying to take it all in. I was feeling embarrassed and rejected. It’s not fun, and what he did was such a sweet gesture,” the Canada native said.
“I remember after it all happened, I felt bad for the way I took it all, and even watching it over I was like, ‘Why couldn’t you just have said yes?’ because he’s being so nice. I was just embarrassed and everyone was seeing me cry on the beach and I just wanted to go home.”
Eventually, Mykenna went on the date with Ed, and she said she’s really happy she did.
“I’m glad I went on the date because it was fun. It was a good night. I mean, I would’ve just gone back to my hotel room and flown back, so it was something good. … He seemed really great and kind, and that’s what I look for in someone. It might have taken him a couple tries to get me to say yes, but it was really sweet and I’m glad I went,” the Bachelor Nation star revealed.
