Clare Crawley Opens Up About Her Split With Dale Moss and Whether She Has Any ‘Bachelorette’ Regrets
Fans saw Bachelor Nation star Clare Crawley find love and get engaged to Dale Moss on Season 16 of “The Bachelorette.”
After the two left the show engaged, they faced ups and downs, and it was recently revealed that Clare and Dale have gone their separate ways.
Clare just stopped by actress Jana Kramer’s “Whine Down” podcast, where she opened up about their split for the first time.
Jana started off by asking Clare how she was doing, and the former Bachelorette candidly replied, “At this very moment, I’m okay. Things are up and down for me just in general in my life. Sometimes it’s minute to minute, but right now, I’m okay.”
Clare was also asked if she has any regrets about her time as the Bachelorette or from her relationship with Dale.
She said, “I always feel like I do not want to have regrets and I don’t even know — to be honest — if I would have done things differently because I was doing the best I could at the time with the information that I had. And if my biggest regret is trusting a man’s words and who showed me who he was, I don’t think that that’s a regret.”
Clare continued, “I trusted somebody. I believed somebody that they were who they said they were and that they would hold up to the promises that they make when they get down on one knee.”
And while she and Dale aren’t together now, she noted, “I loved and have always had such a deep love for Dale. And that A) doesn’t go away overnight and B) I don’t regret that. Like, I’ve loved loving him.”
During her conversation with Jana, Clare suggested that their relationship didn’t always feel like an equal partnership.
“We want somebody to love us how hard we love them, and when it’s not reciprocated or it’s not done to that level or in that way, it’s hard to process that,” Clare said.
“It’s hurtful, especially when they’re saying one thing and doing another,” she added. “That especially stings extra because it’s like, ‘Ugh, how could you do that to somebody you love?’ It’s hard to comprehend things like that.”

Clare also implied that she and Dale weren’t always on the same page when it came to what they needed in a relationship, saying, “I love big and I want to be held and I don’t want to feel bad for, like, holding someone’s hand or touching them.”
And while Clare said she “fought so hard” for their relationship, she said that this time it’s over for good.
The former Bachelorette noted that it’s still a tough subject for her, as it was deeply painful to “walk away from somebody you don’t want to walk away from.”
At the end of the day, Clare wants fans to know both sides and hear her story from her.
She said, “I wish people knew both sides, you know, because it’s easy for a publicist or a source to put out a narrative of what they want their client or friend to look like and appear to, especially when your career is based, and dreams are based, on being in the public eye. But things are hurtful and I’m human, so it does affect me."

Clare also mentioned that their breakup was made even more difficult by her mother’s health condition and her own, as she was recovering from breast implant removal surgery.
Clare shared last month that her mom, who has been struggling with dementia and Alzheimer’s, was placed on hospice care.
We’re continuing to think of Clare and her family and sending them love during this difficult time.
