EXCLUSIVE: Ben Higgins & Jess Higgins Share Plans for Their First Holiday Season as a Married Couple!
Celebrate the holidays with Bachelor Nation!
Former Bachelor Ben Higgins and his new wife Jess Higgins are heading into the holidays as newlyweds!
The couple just got married this past weekend, and now they’re sitting down with BachelorNation.com for an exclusive interview about their plans for their first holiday season as a married couple.
Check out Jess and Ben’s entire interview — including how they maximize time together during the holidays — below!
Bachelor Nation: First and foremost, congrats on your wedding! Now that it’s official, what are your plans as a couple for this holiday season?
Ben Higgins: Thank you! We got married in early November and we will be just getting back from our honeymoon a few days before Thanksgiving! As a result, Thanksgiving will be spent with friends, and then we will be going to NYC before Christmas and Florida with both sets of parents and Jessica’s brothers for the week of Christmas!
BN: That sounds lovely! Will you be doing a big holiday celebration with both of your families?
Jess Higgins: Both of our families will be together in Florida for Christmas! Everyone wanted to be in warm weather for the holidays!
BN: That makes sense! Are there any new traditions you’d like to incorporate this year now that you’re married?
BH: We are really excited to go to NYC this year. We are going to start putting up our tree the day after Thanksgiving, which I believe will be a tradition we keep for a long time! In addition, Jessica and I will be decorating our house for the first time together for the holidays!

BN: Love those traditions! What are you most excited about for the holiday season together as newlyweds?
BH: Being able to spend time together without any work obligations! Jessica has been working hard setting up her skin spa and Generous (my job) has been growing rapidly this year, which has caused a whole lot of time spent focusing on those projects. The holidays will be a time with family and friends to enjoy our time and the gift we have in them!
BN: That will be so nice to have some downtime together during the holidays and after all the wedding planning. Are you planning on getting each other gifts?
JH: We will get each other something very small, but for the most part, we like getting gifts for each other throughout the year and not on days that it is expected!
BN: That’s really sweet. Is there a signature dish/recipe you hope your partner makes?
BH: I love ham on the holidays! A nice big smoked ham makes me smile! Jessica is a pretty healthy eater, so a lot of her favorites are more around the vegetable part of the meal! She is a big fan of pasta on the holidays!

BN: Yum! That all sounds delicious. How do you maximize your time with your spouse during the holidays?
BH: We have a saying that was told to me years ago. The saying is “Be Where Your Feet Are,” which means that we focus on the room and the people that are around us in the moment. We try to practice this throughout the year, but we are extra intentional about it during the holidays!
BN: That saying is amazing. I’m definitely going to bring that with me into the holiday season as well! Now for the last question: After these first few weeks of marriage, what have you learned and hope to take into the new year?
BH: I hope our trust continues to build, our support continues to show, and our love for each other brings us joy every day!
