Astrid Loch & Kevin Wendt Share Their Son’s Name and Reflect on Their First Few Days of Parenthood
Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt met on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Since then, the two have gotten engaged, Astrid moved to Canada, and they just welcomed their first child together!
The couple first announced their pregnancy in May 2021 after Astrid opened up about their experience with IVF and infertility.
And so the two couldn’t have been more excited to welcome their first baby together last week!
After their bundle of joy was born, Astrid took to Instagram and shared the news, writing, “My whole world. Born 11/20/2021 & finally home with the rest of the Wendt gang.”
If you’ve been keeping up with Kevin and Astrid throughout their pregnancy, you know that they were keeping the baby’s gender a surprise not only to fans but also to themselves.

They wanted to wait until their child was born to be surprised by the sex.
And now, the two have revealed that it’s a boy! Kevin took to Instagram to share the sweet news, writing, “My son. My world. August William Wendt (his friends call him Auggy). 11/20/21 - 7.5lbs. Superhero mama and beautiful baby boy both doing great. Thanks for all of the kind messages and well wishes to our growing family. We haven’t stopped smiling in 3 days.”
Astrid also posted an update from her first few days of motherhood and looked back on their IVF journey.
The Bachelor Nation star reflected, “Thankful is an understatement. This time last year I was just getting done recovering from my ectopic pregnancy. It had been exactly 6 weeks since I had taken methotrexate and we were anxiously awaiting my next cycle so we could start the process of IVF. Today we get to celebrate our first Thanksgiving with our Auggy boy and I can’t help but think about all of the couples struggling to grow a family of their own.”

She continued, “We were fortunate enough to be able to afford the high costs of IVF treatments, but many couples struggling with fertility don’t have that same privilege. I’ve highlighted a few organizations in my stories and would love it if you would consider donating so maybe this time next year another family can experience this kind of bliss.”
Astrid also shared a post thanking her body postpartum, writing, “Never loved this body more. Thank you for growing, stretching, and changing with me.”
We’re sending Kevin, Astrid, and Auggy love during their first days as a family of three. Congrats again to the new parents!
