‘The Bachelorette’s’ Casey Reveals How He Navigated All the Drama, Plus: Why Jamie’s Exit Blindsided the House
Bachelor Nation fans met Casey on Michelle Young’s season of “The Bachelorette.” And while things didn’t work out between Michelle and Casey, we’ll be seeing him again on next week’s “Men Tell All” episode.
Before that, though, Casey stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast, where he discussed his time on the show and shared how he handled all the drama from this season.
Co-hosts Joe Amabile, Natasha Parker, and Tia Booth asked how Casey seemingly stayed out of a lot of the drama, and he said while he wasn’t necessarily in the drama, he was “drama adjacent.”
Casey explained, “I was like weirdly drama adjacent. For instance, when Jamie got called out, Rick was one of the people who came to me because he was one of my close friends there. So it became Rick, myself, and Nayte. It seemed like Nayte’s drama, but I was always there.”
And not everything Casey experienced with the other men made it on air.

For example, he revealed, “I was actually fighting with Chris S. probably within two weeks of the show starting, but you didn’t really see it. If someone rubs me the wrong way, I just put it out there. It’s not like I’m trying to find a fight, but if it’s something I thought was disrespectful to Michelle, I wasn’t shy to say how I felt. I think that comes across in the interviews.”
The co-hosts mentioned that they had Chris S. on “Click Bait” and asked why he rubbed Casey the wrong way.
Casey said, “I listened to his episode last night and I think he’s an actor. The number one thing with people is if you seem disingenuous and if you seem like you’re giving me scripted answers, we’re just not going to vibe. I would rather you have a very different opinion than me and own it, we can still be friends. Like, Spencer and I have very different views on the world, but we loved each other. We would talk all night and hear each other out. But when you feel like someone is telling you what you want to hear, it seems fake.”
And it wasn’t just Chris S. who Casey thought was disingenuous. He revealed that he actually had his guard up with Jamie before most of the other men in the house.
The Bachelor Nation star explained, “The Jamie situation was crazy because when it happened, it was like the rug was pulled out from everyone. He got the first one-on-one date and he seemed golden.”
He revealed, “The thing that viewers didn’t see is that everyone in the house was in love with him, just smitten. When he was in a room, he was like Tony Robbins and would say things like, ‘Every bad thing in your life is something you can turn into a positive.’ That’s when I started having issues with him because I thought he was full of sh*t. I called him a cult leader before the revelation because I had seen his demeanor.”
Casey continued, telling the “Click Bait” co-hosts that Jamie’s positivity seemed fake to him from early on.

“You don’t have to always be ‘on’ or positive all the time. I know in life, we should be positive, but it just felt like a façade to me. I got exhausted by it, but everyone else in the house loved him,” Casey explained. “So when we found out that he was the snake talking to her and spreading rumors that were fundamentally not true, people were shocked. He was telling her that everyone in the house was talking about her and Joe like it’s a big problem and that we didn’t trust her character. That never happened.”
And while Casey said it was shocking to experience, it was even more surprising to watch back as the Jamie drama unfolded.
He said, “What was shocking to me watching it back was that they showed all these private conversations where he said things like Michelle was acting like she was on spring break, and I was like ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so much worse!’ I thought it was bad enough when we experienced it.”
