‘The Bachelor’s’ Gabby Shows Clayton Some Love and Reveals She Also Felt Fooled by Shanae
Fans are loving getting to know Gabby on Clayton’s season of “The Bachelor” and watching their love story unfold.
Gabby brings so much humor and joy to our screens each week, but even she was brought down by all the drama involving Shanae.
Gabby stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and spoke to co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Serena Pitt about how she feels just as fooled by Shanae as Clayton does now.
Gabby explained, “I think it’s important to know that watching it back and seeing Shanae’s interviews, we’re all shocked about what was said and what her motives were. It’s new information for everyone to an extent, especially Clayton. We tried to give him some insight, but we also didn’t want to meddle too much because we didn’t truly know what was going on and it was more about finding love. I thought maybe their connection was over the moon. There was lots of confusion. I’m not saying that any of Shanae’s actions are right, but I do wish people would have a little more grace for Clayton.”
Gabby continued, saying that despite the women giving Shanae multiple chances, the way she spoke about them in her interviews has been both shocking and upsetting.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “I feel honestly tricked. A lot of us really tried to give her the benefit of the doubt time and time again. In our minds, we thought there had to be a reason she was sticking around. We weren’t privy to a lot of her conversations with Elizabeth. At times it seemed like Shanae would come back and be friendly to us, hinting that there may be change on the horizon. We always gave her space and a chance for redemption. But now, watching her interviews, knowing that she was manipulating the situation on purpose while knowing well that this will be aired on national television and people will see the full story, I just felt tricked.”
Gabby said that none of the other women wanted this drama and didn’t want to have negative feelings towards everyone.
She also expressed how she felt bad that Clayton got tied up in all the drama as well because he really didn’t know everything that was going on.
Becca agreed, saying, “I feel like especially after this week, Clayton is going to get a lot of backlash for keeping Shanae around and for all of the drama that is still present in the house. So let’s build him up a bit.”
She asked Gabby if she would share some of the things she enjoys about Clayton and Gabby said she’d love to.
Gabby said, “He’s super genuine and is a really good person. He ultimately wants to make good decisions because he’s a good person and I think he exudes that in person when you’re with him. He always just made it a comfortable space for whoever he was speaking with and always made you feel like you’re the only girl in the room. Nothing we said was dumb and no conversation was off-limits. He was down to talk about anything, which I think is great.”
She continued, “He also has a great sense a humor. He’s always down to have fun and is a great person to be around. We could all trust Clayton. He would never hurt anyone’s feelings on purpose. There’s just not a malicious bone in his body.”
