EXCLUSIVE: Clayton & Susie Discuss Moving In Together and the Lessons They Learned on ‘The Bachelor’
Bachelor Nation fans saw Clayton Echard and Susie Evans’ love story unfold on this season of “The Bachelor.”
After some very high highs and some very low lows, they both ended up leaving Iceland alone at the end of the show.
But as we found out during last night’s “After the Final Rose,” Clayton and Susie reconnected and restarted their relationship shortly after filming ended.
Now as they start their life together as a couple, they stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com.
They opened up about the first conversation they had after “The Bachelor” and revealed they talked on the phone for over five hours.
Susie shared how that conversation went, saying, “It was like comparing journals. All of the nitty-gritty inside details, we basically just pulled the curtain back on each other and shared our experience.”
Clayton chimed in, adding, “We just needed to talk it out. We realized we went through a lot and so we didn’t want to leave any stone unturned to give our relationship a fair shot.”

And both Clayton and Susie shared that they have some regrets and learned a lot of lessons from their experience on the show and watching it back.
Susie shared the biggest lesson she learned, saying, “We learned a lot about communication on this journey. I think that’s a big one for both of us. During our time post-show as well, we really learned how to communicate. That’s what was so challenging with this show. He was trying to communicate with so many different people and everyone has different communication styles, so we’ve both learned to communicate better post-show.”
Clayton also discussed his decision to relocate to Virginia and move in with Susie.
The former Bachelor said, “Going into this whole journey, I wanted to make sure I was taking it seriously because I was looking for someone I could start a life with. So it just felt right. I was working in medical sales, but I stepped away from it and sold my condo because I wanted to give this a fair shot. I really wanted this to work. That is why I came here in the first place.”
Clayton continued, “I was ready to roll once she reached back out and we had those discussions, so I just wanted to move in together. That’s the best way to figure out if this will work out long-term. We know there’s a lot ahead, but we’re very excited because if we got through this, we’re very confident about what the future holds.”
And this really is just the beginning for Clayton and Susie. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the happy couple!
