EXCLUSIVE: Deandra Kanu Reveals Her Biggest Takeaways from Bachelor Nation, Plus: How the Shows Impacted Her Dating Life
Bachelor Nation fans first met Deandra Kanu on Season 24 of “The Bachelor,” and she went on to appear on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
While she hasn’t found love yet on-screen, Deandra is still close with many of her fellow Bachelor Nation co-stars and stopped by to check in exclusively with BachelorNation.com.
Since her time on both “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise,” Deandra said that she is in a really great place.
The Bachelor Nation star shared, “I have a new level of empathy for other people coming off the show and how they’re probably feeling the way I did after going on ‘The Bachelor.’ But since coming off ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ it’s been great. I am more used to the post-show feelings. I’ve been really good!”

She also shared her biggest takeaways from her time on the shows, saying, “I’ve learned that you can’t rush love. People are always who they are both on- and off-screen, and when it comes to dating in the real world — actions speak louder than words.”
And speaking of dating in the real world, Deandra revealed how her experiences on the Bachelor Nation shows affected how she dates now.
Deandra said, “My time on the shows has definitely impacted how I move through dating now in the real world. I feel like I have to be a little bit more careful with who I date. I have to evaluate people more and check myself more than I did before the shows.”
And while she didn’t necessarily find love on-screen, Deandra did find some best friends from her time on the shows.
She shared, “I keep in touch with a lot of Bachelor Nation, but the people I keep in touch with most are Tammy, Maurissa, Demi, Jasmine, Alexa, Kiarra, and a lot of the women from Season 24.”
As fans continue to follow Deandra’s journey, she wants them to know that going forward, “I’m a good time, but I also don’t let anyone step on my toes. I’m not someone who you can just walk all over!”
