Bachelor Nation stars Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum famously met on Season 7 of “The Bachelorette” and tied the knot on TV in 2012. In October 2020, the couple announced their decision to split following a monthslong separation.

Despite their divorce, the two have kept a united front for their family. The former Bachelorette and her ex have been focused on co-parenting their two children, son Ford and daughter Essie.

Now, Ashley opened up during an Instagram Q&A about everything from co-parenting to her new relationship.

She revealed that their custody is 50/50 and added that, “I think J.P. and I get along well enough. I think he is an amazing father and takes amazing care of the kids. I am grateful to co-parent with such a superdad!”

Ashley also got candid about transitioning to single parenthood saying that the best part was “realizing that my children are well-adjusted, smart, in tune, happy, and are going to spend their time being around people that model healthy and happy relationships.”

And speaking of happy relationships, the former Bachelorette opened up about her new relationship.

She shared that she has been dating someone for “almost a year now! Sounds crazy because I spent the first four to five months in denial about the relationship. That’s probably why it’s gone by so fast!”

Ashley revealed that she went on her first date about a year after she and J.P. separated and that she and her boyfriend met through her best friend.

She said, “My best friend invited him to my birthday dinner last year as a thank you for helping her plan with restaurant recommendations.”

Ashley shared that her kids have met her boyfriend, saying, “I introduced him after about nine months as one of my friends. Not sure how this happened, but they thought he was their babysitter. They said he was the best babysitter ever!”

One fan asked if she ever plans on sharing her new relationship on social media and Ashley replied, “Eventually yes. Funny story, I was going to post a picture of him when we went to Cabo, but he wasn’t ready. I get it, it’s a lot. Hopefully soon!”

And as for if there are any more kids in Ashley’s future, she revealed, “I am so happy with my two kids, they are just perfection to me, so I wouldn’t choose to have another child. Butttt if someone it was with had a lifelong dream to have a child, maybe I would consider it for a second for two!”

Last but not least, another fan asked Ashley how she is in general and she wrote, “I am great. My life is perfectly balanced. I am surrounded by people that feel like light, happiness, and love. I am healthy, my kids are healthy, and we have everything we need. I couldn’t ask for more!”
