Clearing the air!

Susie Evans just stopped by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast to break down the false cheating allegations against her boyfriend, former Bachelor Clayton Echard, went viral over the weekend.

In case you missed it, a woman alleged via TikTok on Saturday that she had hooked up with Clayton in New York City the night before.

Clayton and Susie quickly shut down the accusations on social media, revealing Clayton’s location and the time of their FaceTime conversations.

But now, Susie is sharing what this entire experience was like for them as a couple. She revealed that she was working a wedding as a videographer that night and her phone started blowing up with all these tags.

“Of course, at that moment, my stomach just dropped. I just couldn’t fathom Clayton of all people doing that. I just genuinely have so much trust in him as a good human being,” Susie said.

She shared that she actually had been cheated on in the past and found out via her DMs, so the experience was triggering for her.

The Bachelor Nation star told co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo that she texted her boyfriend and immediately felt better after hearing from him and realizing it was all just false rumors.

Susie said she wondered, “Who would make that up? It’s the weirdest thing to me that you would not only DM me but post a public video. The public video thing made it seem way weirder. My employee was with me and he was saying it was fake and for clout.”

The couple considered not saying anything publicly at first, but as the video went more and more viral, they felt the need to speak up.

Susie said, “We weren’t going to say anything at first, but then we saw people questioning Clayton, so he shared his location with the public because he had been in Arizona for several days despite this girl saying she was with him in New York. Then I cleared it with Clayton. I wanted to post something too because we knew it wasn’t real, but for everyone speculating about Clayton, he can’t catch a break. He’s gotten a lot of criticism, and this was not okay. This was slander of his name.”

Mike asked Susie what it was like sharing their receipts and still having people question Clayton’s integrity and if they were telling the truth.

Susie shared, “We had a few of those comments of people still not believing us, even with the receipts. But at that point, you just realize you can’t win with everyone. With our relationship, there are always going to be people that don’t agree with us being together, and there are always going to be people who just want to hate. We just have to let that go. We know the truth. We showed the truth just so we can have that peace of mind.”

But to their surprise, Susie said they were overwhelmed with the support they received from Bachelor Nation fans.

She said, “We had a lot of people come to our defense and defend our relationship. We really felt super supported by Bachelor Nation. We saw some funny jokes from people who have been tough on Clayton in the past, saying things like, ‘We can pick on our little brother, but you can’t pick on our little brother.’ It’s really just been nice with the Bachelor Nation fans. Thank you, guys!”
