Celebrating Mother’s Day!

Bachelor Nation fan favorite Astrid Loch became a mom in November 2021 when she and Kevin Wendt welcomed their son August into their lives.

Since welcoming Auggy, Astrid and Kevin have been sharing their lives as new parents on social media with their hundreds of thousands of followers.

And now, Astrid is stopping by to chat with BachelorNation.com exclusively about her very first Mother’s Day.

Bachelor Nation: What has life been like since welcoming August into your lives?

Astrid Loch: Hectic and amazing all at once! Life completely changes with a little one, and although there are lots of long nights and longer days, it’s truly one of the most amazing things ever.

BN: Absolutely, it’s so special! What has surprised you most about motherhood?

AL: I never realized how natural it would come. I was so worried when I was pregnant, but as soon as I held him in my hands for the first time, it always seemed like I knew what to do. Not to say things haven’t been hard, but I never realized how much I’d fall into my role as a mother.

BN: That’s incredible, and you’re such an amazing mom to Auggy! What has been your favorite part of motherhood so far?

AL: I’ve loved to watch him grow and hit new milestones. It feels as if every single week I have a new baby!

BN: It’s crazy how fast they grow! How would you say motherhood has changed you?

AL: I’ve become a lot more patient, but mostly my priorities have shifted. Many things that used to be important to me aren’t even on my radar anymore, and things I never knew I’d care about are all I think about now.

BN: That’s so true. I’m sure a lot of moms can relate to that. What milestones are you most looking forward to in the future?

AL: I’m excited to introduce him to solid foods. Mom could use a break when it comes to constantly breastfeeding!

BN: Yes, that will be so nice! What does being a mom mean to you?

AL: Being a mom means being the best version of myself so I can be a good example to Auggy.

BN: That’s so sweet. As a mom, what do you hope to teach Auggy?

AL: I hope to teach him to always be kind to everyone and to always treat people with respect.

BN: That’s so important! Do you have any advice for fellow new parents?

AL: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! We all need it.

BN: Great advice! Last but not least, would you ever let Auggy watch your Bachelor Nation journey one day?

AL: Yes! We’d let him watch Bachelor Nation shows and our season of “Paradise,” but just preferably not my season of “The Bachelor.”
