Kelley Flanagan is opening up.

Bachelor Nation fans first met Kelley on Season 24 of “The Bachelor,” and while she and Peter Weber didn’t end up together at the end of the show, they reconnected and dated after filming.

The two dated for around seven months before going their separate ways at the end of 2020, and now, Kelley is stopping by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast to discuss what happened between them.

Co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo asked Kelley where things went wrong for the couple and she said, “I don’t think there was one specific thing that led to the downfall for me and Peter. It was just a lot of little things. Peter and I had a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I looked up to him in the way that I wanted to look up to my spouse.”

She explained what she meant by that, saying, “I have this with my brothers and my dad, where if I’m in a moment where I need some sound advice and look for who to go to on important decisions, but with Peter, it was just fun and games. I could have fun with him, but I wanted more of a man that I look up to. I just didn’t look up to Peter in the way that I always hoped I would look up to my husband.”

Mike asked Kelley what qualities she is looking for in a partner and why Peter wasn’t the right fit for her.

Kelley candidly said, “Qualities I look for are someone that’s super intelligent and can teach me things, like something new every day. Peter is smart and was really smart when it came to aviation. He would always teach me things when we would travel. But I don’t know, I think I just need someone a little more serious natured.”

Bryan chimed in and asked Kelley about her relationship with Peter’s mom Barb, who famously stole the show during his season finale of “The Bachelor.”

Kelley shared, “Barb and I were great. She loved me. Towards the end, I think it just got a little uncomfortable. I have all the respect for her and wish her well. We don’t communicate, but I hope she and Peter are doing well. I haven’t heard from them or talked to them.”

And when it comes to specific traits Kelley is looking for in a partner, she said she isn’t super particular.

Kelley shared that she has dated a wide variety of different kinds of guys and superficial things like height aren’t an issue for her.
