Elizabeth Corrigan Celebrates Pride and Shares Her Story in an Empowering Post: ‘I Am Queer’
Celebrating pride!
LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated every June to honor and commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, which was a major tipping point for the LGBTQ+ movement in the United States.
Now, as we honor Pride Month, we are celebrating some of the members of Bachelor Nation who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community and their stories.
Over the weekend, Elizabeth Corrigan from Season 26 of “The Bachelor” just publicly shared her story for the first time.
The Bachelor Nation star was in New York City to celebrate Pride and shared a candid Instagram post from the parade.

Alongside photos in a rainbow top, Elizabeth wrote, “It’s hard to know the right way to say these things, or the right time. Today seems like both and neither. Waking up this morning to my first Pride in NYC I was so excited. I sprung out of bed, went to get a coffee-bought a flag- and quickly began feeling anxious. Overwhelmingly so. Am I ready? No. Am I scared? Yes. Will ‘the right time’ come? Qualify it. It’s important to me today to share with you all that I am queer. More specifically I am, always have been, and always will be-bisexual.”
She went on, saying, “If you know me personally you probably know this. Every time I tell someone new this information I experience fear. Fear that it will end a business transaction, fear that I will make someone uncomfortable, fear that I would be ostracized from my family…. Etc etc etc. what’s more important to me at the end of the day -is to be me. Authentic. Genuine. Raw.”
And Elizabeth hopes that sharing her truth and her story will help even just one other person.
She concluded her post, “So maybe one person will feel less alone... If you’re that one. I’ve got you. I’m here-I’ll answer. You are NOT alone. Hoping that one day the fear will turn to what it should be …PRIDE. Only love. All love. Today and each day to come. Moments matter.”
Many of Elizabeth’s fellow Bachelor Nation stars rallied around her and showed her support in the comments of her post.
