Caila Quinn Reflects on Her Love Triangle in ‘Paradise’ with Ashley Iaconetti & Jared Haibon
Caila Quinn Burrello is talking it out!
Bachelor Nation star Caila Quinn Burello just stopped by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast, where she had a candid conversation about her time on “Bachelor in Paradise.”
As fans recall, on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” Caila was involved in a love triangle involving Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon.
Ashley and Jared later got back together and have since gotten married and welcomed a child together, and Caila also found her person and married her husband Nick Burrello last year.
Now, Caila is reflecting on her involvement in the love triangle and is expressing her regret.
She immediately said, “I want to start by saying I am so happy for them. They have a baby and everything worked out the way it was meant to be. I truly am so happy for them.”
And Caila explained how she found herself in the love triangle to begin with.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “The situation wasn’t the best for me. I was in a love triangle I didn’t anticipate. I was told I would be meeting other people as well, but when I arrived on the beach, there was only one single person for me to go on a date with. I just have this pit in my stomach still and I still feel sick over it because I don’t think it was ever fully resolved. It doesn’t feel good to think that there’s someone out there that hates you. I don’t know if Ashley hates me now. I don’t know if we’ve moved on from things. I didn’t have closure with that and the last thing I remember is that feeling of someone being like ‘Wow, I really hate you.’”
And now, she went on to say that she feels she owes both Ashley and Jared an apology for her involvement in their relationship.
Caila said, “I think I owe both of them an apology. When I was going to ‘Paradise,’ I was fresh off ‘The Bachelor’ and I was just seeing someone else. So I was still processing that experience which was very real to me. I was very guarded going into ‘Paradise,’ so when I went on the date with Jared, I think he was more invested than I was. I was looking for fun times in my 20s, and when you have a third party who was interested in Jared, I think it was just a tense situation.”
She added, “I feel like I owe them both an apology because I think I should have just let them see each other and let that happen. I shouldn’t have stayed with him for as long as we did. I don’t think what happened was very smooth or graceful, and I don’t think I handled it very well. At the end of the day, I was really afraid and felt really alone and I didn’t connect with anybody there. I was trying to connect with Jared and maybe stay in a relationship that wasn’t meant to be.”
And when co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo asked Caila what she would’ve done differently, she said, “I think I should’ve just broken up with him and not left with him. I think that my character was questioned and it was understandable. She really loved him and they were meant to be. They are so happy together and they have a beautiful family. They were meant to be and I got caught in the middle.”
Caila shared that she’s sad about how things turned out because “I genuinely had a friendship with Ashley before that. I think she’s a really good person and is so genuine. I’m sad for how things ended because I think we could’ve been real friends. I just shouldn’t have been in the middle.”
