Tino Discusses Getting Rachel’s First Impression Rose and Why He Took Her to the Stairs
“The Bachelorette’s” Tino is opening up!
Bachelor Nation fans saw Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s first night of their Bachelorette journey kick off on Monday night!
Now, the recipient of Rachel’s First Impression Rose, Tino, stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast to discuss all things “Bachelorette.”
He started off sharing what it felt like to receive the First Impression Rose from Rachel and why it meant so much to him.
Tino said, “It was great. I had an amazing conversation with her. From the second I took her hand, it just felt so comfortable. It was so easy to talk to her. It was really nice getting that reassurance because it validated the connection I saw and had so much faith in. It was actually being reciprocated.”

He explained, “When it’s that early, you don’t know if everybody’s conversation was going that amazing. So getting that rose was a huge moment for me because I was so taken aback by how amazingly comfortable Rachel made me feel. Actually seeing her in person, she’s beyond breathtaking. I was firing on all cylinders about how excited I could get. We were just on top of the world.”
And when co-hosts Natasha Parker, Joe Amabile, and Tia Booth asked Tino about taking Rachel to the stairs, he revealed why he wanted to reclaim the stairs with her.
He said, “Very proudly, the stairs were all my idea. I saw memes and watched the whole YouTube clip of that Rose Ceremony. I had a feeling that since the way things went down for Rachel and Gabby, there would be a lot of negative talk about their last experience. I thought, maybe we can have some fun by owning that experience and making it a new, beautiful one.”
Tino went on, saying, “Thank goodness our conversation went well, or else she would’ve had two traumatic experiences on the stairs. That’s how I came into the whole experience. I was really scared, but I wanted to just tackle it. I wanted to tackle the hardest thing first and put a positive spin on something from last season.”
Love that!
