Nate Discusses Being ‘All In’ on Gabby and Their Emotional Conversation About His Daughter
Nate is opening up!
Bachelor Nation fans saw Nate get Gabby Windey’s very first one-on-one date of the season on last night’s episode of “The Bachelorette.”
Now, he’s stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to discuss their first date and the strong bond he formed with Gabby right away.
Nate discussed getting to meet Gabby in person and connect with her after seeing her on Clayton’s season of “The Bachelor.”
He candidly said, “It’s unbelievable to be in the presence of someone like Gabby. It can be daunting, but in the presence of the right person, it’s empowering to see someone like that. I admire people who have gone through things, but people who go through them and come out stronger, you just appreciate and love them even more for it.”
Nate continued on, sharing, “It was truly amazing to be able to share that space with Gabby and see her for who she was, not just what has been portrayed on TV. Getting time with her made me realize how phenomenal of a woman she is and it justified the reason for me going on the show.”
And when it came to having two Bachelorettes, Nate knew he was all in on Gabby after feeling their connection.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “I was all in on Gabby. It was just effortless with her. I get along with a lot of people, but for something to be that seamless, I wasn’t going to try to search for it elsewhere. I know Rachel is an amazing woman, but what happened with me and Gabby, I didn’t want to take any time away from exploring our relationship.”
During their date, fans saw Nate and Gabby open up to each other about their families and how important they are to them.
Nate talked about his 6-year-old daughter and told co-hosts Michelle and Becca, “That conversation could’ve gone a number of ways. She just has such a calming presence about her that made me feel completely open expressing it. And her asking questions and following up made me realize that she’s really attentive and it made me feel so comfortable. Even though there were difficult conversations, you want to feel like you can have those conversations with someone that you’re possibly marrying.”
Nate also shared how he felt about Gabby opening up to him about her family dynamics.
He said, “When she opened up, I had no idea about her strained relationship with her mother, so I just wanted to be an open ear for her the way she did for me. In doing that, it made us a lot closer to have that bonding moment. We had that serious moment and then we were also able to start joking again to make it light and fun. We really did have a really good dynamic.”
As Michelle said, it really was a perfect first date!
