20 Questions with Roby: Find Out Which Celebrity Slid Into His DMs, Plus: His Relationship Advice
Fans met Roby on Rachel and Gabby’s season of “The Bachelorette” and there’s still a lot to learn about him that we didn’t get to see onscreen.
Here, he opens up exclusively to BachelorNation.com, answering 20 rapid-fire questions.
Get to know Roby a little better below!
1. A taboo topic I love talking about is: The egg very obviously came before the chicken. Any other answer to that question is just scientifically wrong.
2. I think a celebrity couple that is the definition of #relationshipgoals is: Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. They just always seem so happy, playful, intelligent, relaxed, and very, very in love.
3. My guilty pleasure is: I still love reading the old Scrooge McDuck and Archie comics I read as a child. Also, I tend to correct people too often (although in my defense, my corrections are usually valid).
4. The best relationship advice I ever received was: Judge people not for what they say or do or have but by the company they keep. And usually you’re both at least partly wrong: Take the time and actually listen. You can’t argue against a point unless you’re equally prepared to defend the point.
5. My zodiac sign is ___________ and my most [insert zodiac sign] trait would be: I’m the exact cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius. 11.22.88. I imagine that as a centaur with a scorpion tail instead of a horse tail. So, calm, steady, secure but also always ready to defend and strike if need be.
6. My biggest pet peeve is: When people judge others without first getting the chance to know them.
7. The movie I’ve rewatched the most is: “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”
8. The song that always gets me pumped up is: The theme song for “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.”
9. My hidden talent is: As a magician, I’m a smorgasbord of hidden talents. As a magician, I can’t reveal what they are. That being said, I often pride myself on being a good conversationalist with a surprising amount of knowledge stored in the old noggin.
10. The person that inspires me the most is: I genuinely try to find inspiration from everyone. Even those with the lowliest of conditions have an inordinate amount of knowledge and experience to share. If I had to choose one person, however, I’d go for my grandfather. I never met someone with more integrity than him, and I miss him dearly.
11. My last meal on earth would be: A home-cooked meal made for me by those I love dearest.
12. The most famous person who has slid into my DMs/followed me on social media is: By size of Instagram alone: Vanessa Hudgens. But this was a purely professional relationship.
13. My favorite emoji is: 😂😂😂
14. My favorite part of being on “The Bachelorette” was: I was so genuinely stoked about being on this crazy, wild roller coaster adventure where anything could happen. From love to friendship to despair and hate. Sadly the “anything” that happened to me was getting sent home way faster than I would have ever desired.
15. Being on “The Bachelorette” taught me: You will be judged for things that were genuinely beyond your control.
16. My celebrity crush is: Madelaine Petsch.
17. If you go on “The Bachelorette,” don’t forget to pack: An emergency hidden rose. So you can pull it out if you don’t get one!
18. Something I still have from my time on “The Bachelorette” is: A blend of public humiliation with a desire of “Justice for the magic king” (the latter of these being a quote from a Kaitlyn Bristowe tweet).
19. When Bachelor Nation fans approach me in person and/or online, the first question they ask is: “Am I going to see you in ‘Paradise’?” That or “Can I see a trick?”
20. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Hopefully deeply in love, and hopefully never compromising the morals and integrity that guide me. Also continuing my everlasting quest of making the world a better place each and every day.
