Now, Zach is stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to discuss his date with Rachel and the difficult Rose Ceremony that followed.

Zach opened up to co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young about why he got emotional watching the video from his mom during his date with Rachel.
He said, “It was seeing my mom after some time but also seeing her be so supportive of me. She knew I was at that point in my life where I was ready to find my person.”
Zach went on, adding, “It was just crazy how the timeline worked and I was there with Rachel. I already felt that spark and connection with her and to see my mom there cheering me on, I was not expecting it and I’m a mama’s boy at heart. It was unreal.”
Michelle and Becca also asked Zach what was going through his mind as Rachel roses were turned down during this week’s Rose Ceremony.

Zach shared what was going through his head at that moment, saying, “It broke my heart to see that she was so upset. The last thing she should feel is embarrassed, as everyone knows she’s an incredible woman. If there were guys who rejected her and didn’t see that in her, she’s better off without them. You don’t need that in your life. There’s people out there for you.”
He went on saying, “There were guys here for Rachel and we had her back and saw something in her through it all. I wanted to support her and let her know that she’s better off without them and doesn’t need them. It’s painful and tough and no one ever likes to be rejected, but there were incredible people there for her who wanted her heart.”
