Experience Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada, Like Sean Lowe on ‘The Bachelor’
Bundle up, because it’s time to head to Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada!
Lake Louise is world famous for its turquoise lakes, the Victoria Glacier, soaring mountain backdrop, palatial hotel, and incredible hiking and skiing.
So if you’re looking for the perfect Canadian vacation spot for you and your boo, look no further than Lake Louise.
Sean Lowe traveled to the glacial lake within Banff National Park on Season 17 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can follow along if you visit.
Where to stay
Sean and the women of his season stayed at the Fairmont Château Lake Louise. This hotel features breathtaking views of Lake Louise and the surrounding Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Fairmont provides a space to unwind while also enjoying everything Banff National Park has to offer. Ski and spa packages are available, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. If and when you check in here, you’re sure to say that this hotel rose above the rest.
One-on-One Date: Live Out Your Ice Queen Dreams!
Start off your trip to Lake Louise by unleashing your inner child in the winter wonderland!
In Banff, Sean took Catherine Giudici on his first one-on-one date of the week, and it’s safe to say it was a success. The two ended up falling in love and getting married after meeting on “The Bachelor”! So if you’re looking to experience Lake Louise like Sean and Catherine, they kicked off their day by riding in a Snowcoach (a giant snow bus) onto the Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park. The two spent the day playing in the snow. Later, the two traveled to the Lake Louise Ice Palace, where literally everything inside is made of ice. How fun! The couple nestled up under a blanket and sat in front of a fire. After Sean gave Catherine a rose, the two shared a romantic kiss.
Group Date: Let’s Polar Plunge!
Diving into a chilly reset!
Sean invited seven women on a very special group date on Lake Louise. They canoed across the lake to kick off the day. Once they arrived at the lake, Sean invited the girls to do the “Polar Bear Plunge” with him. In case you aren’t familiar with a polar plunge, it’s where you jump into the icy lake water and fully submerge yourself before coming out and warming up. Sean told the girls that the polar bear plunge is something a lot of people do on New Year’s Day as a way to start over and reset for the future. Before they plunged into the lake, Sean and the women met with lifeguards who remind them of how cold the water is, and it’s just about freezing. Eventually, they all plunged in and dove into the fresh reset. At night, the group warmed up and headed to the Deer Lodge for romantic drinks.
Winter sport aficionados love Lake Louise for its trails and variety of skiing options. If you want to hit the slopes and get that adrenaline pumping, ask the hotel concierge about their various ski packages. And if you’re craving even more adventure, take things up a notch and try rappelling like Sean and Desiree Hartsock! Desiree and Sean went to Banff National Park, where they rappelled down a hillside in the Canadian Rockies in order to reach their picnic destination on Tunnel Mountain. After their picnic, they climbed a tree together to take in more views and shared a kiss.
From the mountains to the lakes to the glaciers, Lake Louise has it all for the romantic vacation of a lifetime!
