Experience Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands Like Sean Lowe on ‘The Bachelor’
There’s a lot of love about Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands!
From the rich culture to the historic landmarks to the incredible diving locations and more, Saint Croix is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. The Caribbean island has white sand beaches and lush rainforests, making it the perfect backdrop for your love story to unfold.
Saint Croix is the largest of the four U. S. Virgin Islands and is easily accessed via a direct flight from Florida. Sean Lowe traveled to the beautiful island on Season 17 of “The Bachelor,” and here’s how you can follow suit!
Where to Stay
Sean and the women vying for his heart arrived on the island on a seaplane operated by Seaborne Airlines. The plane dropped them off at the Buccaneer Hotel, where they would be staying. The Buccaneer is the first hotel in St. Croix to be built and operated by an island family, and it is one of the most iconic and historic luxury resorts in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The resort overlooks the Caribbean and Christiansted Harbor and offers stunning views in every direction. With over 340 acres of oceanfront playground, there is something for everyone at the Buccaneer. The hotel has everything travelers could want, including an 18-hole golf course, a full-service spa, three restaurants, two pools, eight tennis courts, three beaches, a water sports center, a shopping arcade, and more!
Take your date’s hand and learn new things about each other as you wander around the resort’s extensive grounds.
One-on-One Date: Love Sets Sail
Enjoy the privacy of a private island!
For his first one-on-one date in Saint Croix, Sean took Ashlee to the beach, where a catamaran was waiting for them. They swam out to the boat and set sail for their own private island. The two had fun sailing and jumping off the boat into the water. They arrived at the island and swam to shore, where they shared romantic kisses as the waves crashed into them. Later that night, Sean and Ashlee had a private dinner set up at Whistle Beach.
Group Date: Sunrise to Sunset
Enjoy an all-day-long date!
Sean surprised three of his ladies and woke them up before the sun rose. They drove to the opposite side of the island and arrived at Point Udall, the easternmost point in the United States. They enjoyed the sunrise as the very first people in the U.S. to see it that day. Sean and the women had breakfast and mimosas as they took in the gorgeous view.
Then, they drove across the island in a Jeep Wrangler, visiting several local sites along the way, including the Estate Mount Washington Sugar Mill. They also stopped to feed horses, grab a bite to eat, and explore a rainforest treehouse on their trek across the island. Eventually they ended up on the beach at Sandy Point, the westernmost point on the island. They went swimming in the water and watched the sunset as the very last people on St. Croix to see the sun go down that day. Talk about a romantic adventure!
One-on-One Date: Exploring the City
For his final one-on-one date of the week, Sean invited Tierra to explore their love on the streets of Saint Croix. The two walked around the city and shopped at local stores and street vendors. They bought matching necklaces, and Sean even got Tierra an eternity bracelet. While walking, the Bachelor and his date encountered a parade heading in their direction, so they joined in and danced in the streets. After stopping for a snow cone, the two headed to dinner at the Saint Croix Sugar Mill.
If only vacations themselves could receive a rose!
