‘The Bachelorette’s’ Aven Dishes on Kissing Rachel in a Veil and How It Made Him Think About Their Future
Aven is talking it out!
Bachelor Nation fans are getting to know Aven on Season 19 of “The Bachelorette,” and this week, he went on a romantic one-on-one date with Rachel.
During their date, Rachel and Aven stumbled upon women making lace on the streets of Belgium and they gifted Rachel with a custom veil.
After she put the veil on, Aven lifted it up and the two shared a romantic kiss.
Now, Aven is stopping by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast, where he opened up about the significance of this moment to co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo.

Aven shared how this kiss made him feel, saying, “I kissed Rachel after lifting the veil during our date. It was kind of like, I don’t want to say out-of-body experience, but it really made me think into the future when you do something like that. I’ve obviously never done that before and it’s a special moment that means a lot, especially to Rachel, whose end goal was that.”
He continued on, adding, “It was one of those things where I was going with the flow, but when I lifted the veil, I realized why people value doing that and that moment in their lives. You lift the veil and it’s the unveiling of the rest of your life. Your forever is right there.”
Mike and Bryan asked Aven if this moment made him think about getting down on one knee and proposing to Rachel.
He said, “In that moment, it was our first one-on-one date, but getting down on a knee was definitely something that crossed my mind. I thought about if this was something in our future, so it definitely crossed my mind in that moment.”

Aven went on, explaining, “I also envisioned myself at the altar. How could you not, right?! When lifting the veil, there was nothing else I was thinking about at that point. Having such a good day up to that point definitely helped with any nerves.”
He added, “Nothing that was thrown at us was going to throw us off. The veil was just another part of the date, and it was awesome. I was just living in the moment, and when I lifted the veil, she looked amazing, obviously, and this was a big moment for us. We shared a kiss, and the rest is history!”
