Michael Allio Gets Emotional Over Son James’ First Day of Kindergarten: ‘I’m Wrecked’
A major milestone!
Back-to-school season is upon us, and for some Bachelor Nation kids, it’s time to head to school for the very first time.
Michael Allio took to Instagram to share an emotional post about sending his son James off to kindergarten for his very first day of school.
As fans know, the single dad has been open about losing his wife Laura Ritter-Allio to cancer in 2019 when she was only 33 years old.
The two were together for over 16 years before she passed away, and they share their son James together.
And now, Michael is getting emotional as their son James continues to grow up.

He got candid in his first day of school post, writing, “And… I’m wrecked. James was so brave today. I couldn’t be more proud. I knew today would be heavy, but I had no idea it would be this bad. I think it’s because we’ve just been through so much together.”
Michael continued on alongside the adorable photos from James’ first day, saying, “From the onset, we faced nothing but uncertainty and obstacles. Yet, through it all, we’ve proven to each other that we can persevere as long as we have each other.”
And the dad concluded his post, writing, “Life isn’t fair. We know that all too well. Our life is far from ‘normal.’ That much we understand. There isn’t one way to pursue happiness. Just never stop trying. We refuse to compare ourselves to others… because ‘normal is boring.’ Your mother would be so proud of you today. We love you so so much.”
