EXCLUSIVE: ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 8 Cast Teases What to Expect and What They Learned About Themselves
Get ready to be shocked!
While Bachelor Nation fans are in the midst of watching Rachel and Gabby’s love stories unfold on “The Bachelorette,” there’s still so much to get excited about this year.
Starting with Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” which premieres on Tuesday, September 27!
As we get pumped up to head back to the beaches of Mexico for another summer of love, drama, and everything in between, we sat down with some of the Season 8 cast to dish on all things “Paradise.”
Andrew Spencer, Victoria Fuller, Genevieve Parisi, and Serene Russell sat down exclusively with us here at BachelorNation.com to tease what’s to come as we get ready for “Paradise.”
Check out their full interview below!
Bachelor Nation: What were you most excited about heading into “Paradise?”
Andrew Spencer: Going into ‘Paradise,’ I was most excited to try and find love honestly. Going to the beach, I was thinking that this was my time and that it felt right.

Victoria Fuller: I was most excited about meeting new people because I had no idea who was going to be there. I have been out of this world for the past three years, so I was excited to meet people that I probably wouldn’t have met normally.
Genevieve Parisi: Going into ‘Paradise,’ I was most excited about the hope that I would find someone and get engaged at the end of it. That was the reason I went there; hopefully that’s the reason most people went there! That was my biggest hope, that I would find my person and get to start a family.
Serene Russell: I was really excited to meet everyone. I live in Oklahoma, so I live so far from everyone and hadn’t gotten to meet anyone, so I was excited to get down there and meet everybody!
BN: Were there any specific qualities you were looking for in a partner?
AS: I try not to look for specific qualities in someone. I just went into ‘Paradise’ looking for sparks. I don’t want to have checked boxes. So I wanted to see if I jumped off with someone and if we could figure it out. That is mostly what I have been looking for. You’ll have to watch to see if I found that!

VF: Going into ‘Paradise,’ I knew exactly what I wanted, or what I thought I wanted. I thought that I needed somebody that checked all these specific boxes about their age, their job, their house, and all these things. But then you meet people in ‘Paradise’ in such a special environment that changes your whole reality on what you think you want.
GP: I was definitely looking for a feeling. That’s a big thing for me. But I was also looking for someone family-oriented and someone that could make me laugh or joke around with me. I like to poke fun with people and I like getting that back. I just wanted a kind heart that could also challenge me.
SR: I definitely need someone that is a clear communicator that is going to tell me how they feel. I don’t want to have to guess about how someone feels about me. I have just been wanting someone that communicates how they feel. I have never had a guy be so outwardly sure about me that they let me know that without having to do guesswork. So I want to be sure that I am on the same page as someone.
BN: What would you say you learned from your experience in “Paradise”?
AS: I am a nurturer, and I learned from this experience that sometimes nurturers need nurturing as well. However you think you may handle situations doesn’t always turn out to be the case. I needed to lean on some people, and I’m glad that “Paradise” is a situation where there were plenty of people to lean on. That was actually really nice.

VF: I thought I knew who I was going in, but I learned so much more about myself coming out of it. I thought I knew what I wanted and I completely flipped the script. I just really got to have fun and be more carefree.
BN: Is there one word you could use to describe this summer in “Paradise”?
AS: Not kidding, I’m not even trying to do any cliché Bachelor thing, this is without a doubt, the most dramatic season of all time.
VF: Can I give two? F*cking insane.
GP: Unexpected.
SR: Shocking!
BN: Is there anything you are excited for fans to learn about you?
VF: The misconception of me is that I am just this hard outer shell, but I would like people to see more of who I am and my heart behind the things I do. I can be perceived in a certain way, but I’m really just looking for love like anyone else. I am not a total b*tch!
GP: I am the most emotional person I’ve ever known. I know I can come off tough and I don’t let many people see the emotional side of me, but they will see it on “Paradise”! I have a big heart and care a lot about people, so when I’m upset, I get very upset. I think people might think I don’t have a heart from Clayton’s season because I wasn’t as emotional, but I think everyone will be very surprised to see how emotional and vulnerable I am.
Make sure to watch all the love and drama unfold on September 27 on ABC or stream on Hulu!
