Experience Marseille, France, Like Andi Dorfman on ‘The Bachelorette’
Is there anywhere better to fall in love than France?!
The country has romance at every turn, and the South of France is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the entire world. From the hidden cobblestone streets to the stunning boat rides to the quaint cafés, it really doesn’t get any better than Marseille, France!
Andi Dorfman traveled to Marseille on Season 10 of “The Bachelorette,” and here’s how you can do the same in one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Where to Stay
During their time in Marseille, Andi and her men stayed at the InterContinental Marseille-Hotel Dieu. This hotel is the epitome of luxury. It’s located in Marseille’s historic Panier district, where you can enjoy a pastis apéritif on the terrace with views of Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica before dining on Mediterranean dishes in the Michelin-starred Alcyone restaurant. The InterContinental is fully equipped with a fitness room, indoor pool, and spa, so there’s something for everyone. And best of all, it’s only a five-minute walk from the boats lining the quay of the Vieux-Port in the heart of the city.
One-on-One Date: Soak In the City
For her first one-on-one date in Marseille, Andi invited Josh to enjoy all that the city has to offer with her. The two went to a café where they enjoyed pastries and practiced some French. The two also rode on a private sailboat and enjoyed looking at the ruins surrounding the harbor. Andi and Josh sailed to the Calanques National Park, where they took in the stunning views. After a romantic day, the pair made their way back to the mainland and had a private dinner at Palais Longchamps. After dinner, they enjoyed a private concert in the courtyard of the palace surrounded by candlelight. Sounds like the perfect day in Marseille!
Group Date: Mime Over Matter
For her group date in Marseille, Andi’s men joined her at the École de Spectacle System Dance Studio, where she had a special activity planned for them. They took lessons in mime! Everyone changed into full mime outfits and eventually performed their new mime skills in a public square for a large audience. After the day of fun, Andi and her men enjoyed dinner and drinks at the local bar, Trolley Bus.
One-on-One Date: Cooking Up Romance
Andi asked Brian on her second one-on-one date of the week. The two went to a local movie theater and got to watch an advanced screening of the movie “The Hundred-Foot Journey.” Andi and Brian had the theater to themselves and enjoyed some snacks and champagne. After the movie, they decided to bring the movie to life and went to a market to buy ingredients and make a recipe, like the characters did in the film. The two tried many local dishes at the market, including fresh sea urchin. After cooking up some of the food they bought at the market, Andi and Brian visited the Le Comptoir Dugommier Café for some drinks. A very simple yet very French day!
