Rodney Mathews Speaks Out on Emotional ‘Paradise’ Elimination and Bachelor Nation Responds
All the love.
Bachelor Nation fans first fell in love with Rodney Mathews on Season 18 of “The Bachelorette,” and he returned to look for love on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
This week, Rodney left “Paradise” heartbroken after Eliza changed her mind about him and decided to go after Justin.
Now, Rodney took to social media to share a message to his friends on the beach after his emotional elimination.
Alongside photos from this season, Rodney wrote, “This season was a roller coaster for me. First and foremost I have to give a special shoutout to my cast, who were some of the best people I’ve ever met in my life.”

He went on, saying, “We now share this crazy bond and have become a family. Watching and reliving this has been difficult for multiple reasons. Moving forward, I never want to let anything or anybody take the life out of me or deplete my energy. As crazy as it was, I have no regrets. Go crabs.”
Rodney’s fellow Bachelor Nation stars showed up in full force to support their guy and show him some love in the comments of his post.
Danielle Maltby wrote, “America’s Bachelor and forever class President. You are the brightest, kindest light my friend!”
Johnny DePhillipo added, “This man can light up a room with his presence. Rodney for president!”

Jacob Rapini said, “Love you Rod. No regrets and keep living for the moment.”
And Rodney’s BFF Nayte Olukoya shared a video of him and Rodney on his stories and wrote, “So glad the world is truly seeing how much of a gem my brother Rodney Mathews is. Rodney for Bachelor! The world needs more Rancho Rod!”
Rodney replied to Nayte, calling him “my brother from another mother!”
We’re sending Rodney love after this week’s heavy episode and can’t wait to see what happens at the “Bachelor in Paradise” reunion.
