Lauren Bushnell Lane Shares Story of Her Son’s Unexpected Early Birth and Her Emergency C-Section
Sharing her story.
Bachelor Nation fans know Lauren from Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” and since her time on Bachelor Nation shows, she found love with country singer Chris Lane.
The two got married in October 2019 and welcomed their first child together, son Dutton, in June 2021.
And last month they announced that their newest addition had finally arrived!
Lauren and Chris welcomed their second child together, Baker, on October 16, and now she’s sharing her birth story.
At the time Baker was born, Lauren shared, “Our little man surprised us 9 days early, late Sunday night. Still laughing thinking about my water breaking (very aggressive, movie like situation) driving myself to the hospital in Chris’ truck (pantsless btw) because my car was out of gas and Dutton was sleeping.”
She called her birth experience “very chaotic, unplanned, and panicked” and now she took to her Instagram Stories to share what happened in more detail.
Lauren shared a special photo of her, Chris, and Baker in the delivery room and wrote, “My water broke nine days early at 9 PM on a Sunday night. Knowing that Baker was breach I went to the hospital right away. Chris waited while our sweet nanny rushed over because Dutton was sleeping. Within 10 minutes of Chris arriving at the hospital my doctor arrived and I was getting wheeled away to get a C-section.”
The mom of two went on, saying, “I was having contractions really close together. The weird thing is they weren’t super painful And I had been having them since I think the day before but I thought they were just intense Braxton Hicks? The Friday before, so two days before I had this weird feeling that I was going to go into labor.”
Lauren explained the symptoms she felt on Friday that made her suspicious that she was going into labor early.
She said, “Friday night I had a horrific heartburn and then I also felt something leak the morning of the day my water broke (Sunday) and I called my doctor but they said it was probably just urine But definitely was not because my water broke 12 hours later ( and when I say broke it was like the movies.”

Thankfully, she shared, she and Baker are both okay now and she’s been taking the time to heal and recover from her emergency C-section.
Lauren shared an update on how she’s been feeling this week, saying, “I’m good! Lifting Dutton again and driving and I feel myself again. This recovery was a lot harder than Dutton’s birth. I’ve never had any surgery before and woah having a major surgery and then having to leave with a baby while healing is 😵💫. My scar is healing still but my body feels much much better.”
We’re so glad everyone is happy and healthy, and we can’t get enough of the adorable Baker content Lauren has been sharing.
Congrats again to the Lane family!
