Wells Adams & Joe Amabile Reveal Why the ‘Paradise’ Reunion Felt So Heavy
Dishing on the drama.
Bachelor Nation fan favorites Joe Amabile and Wells Adams joined Becca Kufrin on this week’s episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour.”
Both Joe and Wells were in attendance at the “Bachelor in Paradise” reunion and the two discussed why this reunion truly felt like the most dramatic and serious aftershow in Bachelor Nation history.
Joe noted that while what viewers saw seemed intense, “There’s also a lot you didn’t see because we filmed for almost 12 hours.”
Wells shared that certain situations, like Victoria and Johnny’s breakup and the news of her new relationship with Greg, left everyone feeling unsettled.
The Bachelor Nation bartender said, “The vibe of the show was a very serious one. With the whole Victoria and Greg and Johnny thing, usually at those aftershows there is a winner and a loser. Maybe in this situation no one is a winner. For example, with Kate and Logan, it seemed like Logan was the winner, in that he looked better than Kate did. For the whole Victoria and Greg of it all, everyone looked bad and I felt sad about that.”
Joe chimed in and shared his experience seeing that play out in real time.
He said, “Watching that was rough. Being there, you saw that no one in the cast was smiling or happy. I remember doing the ‘Paradise’ reunion and it had a different vibe. Even if people didn’t get along on the beach, everyone was happy to be there. To me, I thought this was the most serious reunion I’ve ever seen or been to.”
Wells revealed that this reunion overall truly felt like the most dramatic one ever, saying, “I agree and that’s why I’m a little bummed that my fun stuff got cut because it felt so heavy that I was like, we had some fun at this whole thing. It’s a fun and silly show, but it was definitely the most dramatic one we’ve done. I hate to use the whole Bachelor Nation cliché, but I think it’s a fair statement.”
And both Joe and Becca agreed with Wells, with Joe adding, “Let’s just call it what it is. That was f*cking nuts. The whole thing, the whole story, watching it back, and Greg coming out. I was saying that this is intense!”
Becca chimed in, saying what was on Bachelor Nation fans’ minds, asking, “When Greg came out, I wondered why Greg just didn’t go onto ‘Paradise.’ I was confused by that.”
And while things didn’t work out for Johnny and Victoria, Joe shared what it takes to make a relationship work after “Paradise.”
He said, “I think it should be very easy after the show. For me with Serena, it was extremely easy. It was a lot of fun and a lot of excitement. I feel like if you don’t get that right away, you’re kind of doomed. Unless you both really put effort into it. Either way, it’s all about the effort you’re going to put into it because it’s not easy. You probably live in different states and you’re not supposed to see each other outside of the setup happy couple weekends. We’re that couple now that never fights.”
