Ashley Spivey Opens Up About Welcoming Baby Girl Penelope After Experiencing Pregnancy Loss
Congrats to the new mama!
Bachelor Nation fans first met Ashley Spivey on Brad Womack’s season on “The Bachelor” and she’s been keeping fans updated with her life on social media ever since.
In November 2020, Ashley got extremely candid with fans and shared her traumatic experience with pregnancy loss.
After previous miscarriages, she shared that she knew knew something felt off when she was pregnant with her son CJ.
At the time, she said, “I started to worry after I left the office and just wanted to check in with my normal doc,” Ashley wrote. “She said she wasn’t worried but I should get a sonogram at the hospital just to make me and her feel better.”

Ashley went on, saying, “Once I got there they were having trouble finding the heartbeat so they did two ultrasounds with two different doctors — but the result was the same. CJ died sometime between my doctor visit and my hospital visit.”
And now, she said that CJ was watching over her as she delivered her baby girl Penelope.
Alongside photos from the hospital, Ashley wrote, “Hello world - meet Penelope ‘Penny’ Lyn Spivey Hunsberger ( W: 7.4lbs H: 19.5in). She really did not want to come out of Château Spivey but was kicked out of her residence at 9:11pm via C-section. Mom lost some blood and scared everyone but she had the best doctors ever so everyone is ok.”
She went on, saying, “She has super light brown hair and blue eyes so @shunsy14’s dreams came true and I’ve pretty much just cried nonstop ever since they showed me her. I didn’t get to hold her until later today because I was in recovery until early this morning.”

Ashley concluded her post, writing, “We are all so in love with our very alert baby and I know CJ was watching over us for every step along the way. Thank you so much to everyone who has been so good to us over this journey - despite everything, we feel like the luckiest parents in the world.”
We are so happy for Ashley and her husband and can’t wait to see more of sweet Penny as she grows up.
Ashley continued advocacy for infertility and pregnancy loss has helped so many people and we know that she is just getting started.
Congrats again!
